Guidelines for Preparing PAL Report

1. Submit 3 spiral binding copies of project work

2. Submit soft copy of the Problem Assisted Learning work.
3. Report must consist of the following contents.
i. Title page
ii. Certificate
iii. Acknowledgement
iv. Declaration
v. Index----Contents
vi. List of figures
vii. List of tables
viii. Abstract

4. Arrangement of Chapters:

The following is suggested format for arranging the report into various
chapters. However this arrangement can be changed to suit the particular work.

1. Introduction
2. Review of Literature
3. Theoretical Analysis
4. Experimental Investigations
5. Experimental Results
6. Results & discussion
7. Conclusions with scope for future work
(Original Contribution to be Highlighted)
8. References
9. Appendices (if any)

4.1 The arrangement of paragraph in a Chapter :

Each topic Title in a chapter should be properly numbered for example: 1.1, 1.2.
etc., (Bold and Upper case) where, the first digit represents the Chapter
number, and second digit, the topic Title number.

Sub-topic titles, if any, may be indicated as 1.1.1, 1.1.2, etc. (Bold and title case)
i.e. the first digit representing the chapter, the second representing the topic
title and the third representing the sub-topic title.

4.2 Plots and Tables:

The plots kept in a chapter may be serially numbered as Fig: 1.1, 1.2 etc., along
with suitable CAPTION where the first digit represents the chapter, the second
digit represents figure number and placed at the bottom of the figure with center
alignment.
 For Example:

Fig: 1.1 Caption (Title Case)

The tables occurring in a chapter may be serially numbered as Table: 1.1, 1.2 etc.,
along with suitable CAPTION where the first digit represents the chapter, the
second digit represents table number and placed at the top of the table.

For Example:

Table: 1.1 Caption(Title Case)
