Have you ever had a bad cold when a concerned friend or colleague or family member casually suggested a remedy
that they had found relief in? You follow their advice and find, much to your disappointment that it does not work for
you at all!

Okay, forget the cold. Have you ever found that a particular piece of music that your brother or friend listens to , to
relieve the stress of the day not only sounds like clanging buckets to you but actually gives you a nagging headache? No
, I am not trying to suggest cures for your everyday maladies. I am simply trying to awaken you to the reality of an
expression that I recently stumbled upon and have been greatly impressed by:-The Commonality Of Individual
Uniqueness.

Dear Readers, it's not just our faces, our origins, the languages that we speak or the cuisines that we like that are
different. So are our inherent skills, our passions, our hopes and fears. Each of us is a unique person and oxymoronic as
it may sound, it's the universally shared attribute one-dimensional definitions of good, bad, success, failure,we often fail
to honor our individual desires, our inner strengths and our true goals. “Herd Mentality” becomes not just a casual
expression but also something that constantly determines every action and decisions of ours.

Today, as you focus all your efforts, energy and concentration on the frenetic journey towards achievement, my request
to you is simple: just spare a moment to ask yourself a few questions and be honest to yourself:-
a)What is that you want to achieve?
b)Are you really making use of all that you have been naturally gifted with in your journey?

Only the best is good enough, but what is best for you is something that you have to decipher with clear –sightedness,
integrity and your heart. For self-discovery is the only assurance to meaningful success.

“With the measure of the dimensions of thought, no dream seems to be unrealistic and no panorama out of sight.”

This aptly sums up the standing of IILM-GSM in tough times.

The Summer Placement Process 2009-‘10 for the Class of 2010 of PGDM & PGDRM was both phenomenal and path-breaking,
with all students bagging exciting, never before offered profiles in reputed companies. This year witnessed a major deviation
from the previous years in terms of profiles and companies, although the highlight was the sheer diversity of the sectors, ranging
from Banking, Consultancy, Technology, FMCG, Automotive, Health Care & Pharmaceuticals, Telecom, Media, Entertainment,
Advertising & Energy.
A number of students showed interest in exciting profiles offered by start-ups.
The companies offered coveted profiles across verticals such as Treasury, Equity Research, Market Advisory, Investment banking,
corporate consulting, Branding, Market Research, Business Development, and many more.

The placement procedure started with mock interviews of all the eligible students for placements. Elite panel members
constituted of the IILM-GSM faculty, top officials from the corporate and the alumni of IILM-GSM. This was the one of the first
steps taken by the placement committee to give the students an exposure to what they could expect during their final interviews.
In other words “A PERFECT DRESS REHEARSAL”.
The Students committee on placements (SCOP) & IAA put in their best effort in ensuring a clearer insight amongst students
regarding their conceptual understanding and communication skills.

As a result of this, IILM-GSM managed to place significantly large number of students

even in these tough times when the economy is just towards the path of recovery. The packages may be slightly on the lower side
but the profile offered by the companies is exceptional which would eventually result in growth of our students at the corporate
level.

Following is the list of companies which visited the campus with placement offers, their profile and the package offered .

What was the most common thing between Dhirubhai Ambani, JRD Tata, Narayana Murthy and other
successful entrepreneurs? I think it was their dreams. They had a dream, but more importantly they
had faith in their dream and most importantly they had the belief that one day they would change their
dream into reality. They changed the destiny of Indian industries. They made the principles which the
world follows today. They build their own path. And there are many more in present who is trying to
build their own path ………….
VIVEK PAHWA- making business from matchmaking
Vivek Pahwa, CEO, Accentium Web Pvt Ltd Group Company for Secondshaadi.com and gaadi.com has won the
Asia’s Best Young Entrepreneurs 2008 Award by Business Week. 27 years old Vivek Pahwa is the Managing
Director of Accentium Web Pvt Ltd - a group of multiple online portals including Secondshaadi.com and
Gaadi.com. Vivek started his entrepreneurial journey by creating India’s first social networking web portal
Desimartini.com, which he later sold to HT media, in November 2007. He then created Secondshaadi.com - a
matchmaking site for divorced people, which is now India’s no 1 matrimonial website for remarriages. He launched
the third website this year - Gaadi.com, which focuses on new and used car sales. Within just five months of its
existence Gaadi.com is the No. 2 automobile Web site in India, wherein people can buy and sell used cars and has
already sparked the interest of car makers.
In coming future Vivek is all geared up to launch three more internet facing consumer businesses under his group
company Accentium.

Dhruv Lakra – Finding abilities in disables

Dhruv Lakra is born and bred in India, with stints at Merill Lynch as an investment banking analyst,
Lakra returned to school for his MBA. But somewhere along the way he had a ‘Road to Damascus’
moment, which changed his otherwise traditional career path. The phrase is derived from the biblical
story of St Paul, who converted from Judaism to Christianity on the road to Damascus. And so it was
with Lakra.
‘‘I got this idea sometime in August 2008 while i was seated next to a deaf boy travelling on a bus. I
started talking to him and soon realized he had no opportunities for employment because of the
strong negative perception regarding his ability to be productive. On reaching home, i received a
courier and there was no communication exchanged with the delivery man. That got me thinking:
‘Why can’t low-income deaf adults become courier carriers?’ so i started Mirakle Couriers in Mumbai.’’
That was a year ago. Today, Mirakle Couriers has successfully executed 800 deliveries in its launch
phase. How big can this business get? Modest estimates put the number of deaf people in India at two
million — but some say it is as high as 60 million, and 66% of them are unemployed .
Pranav Bhasin – “share yourself”
He is the nominee for Asia’s Best Young Entrepreneurs 2009. Pranav Bhasin is
founder of Lifeblob.com. Bhasin's idea was to build an interesting medium to
meet new people, find interesting trivia around your activities, and build
loosely connected communities around a cause. From its headquarters in
Bangalore, Lifeblob is a place to share experiences, memories, and events with
friends through photos and videos. For instance, the social networking site
allows people to share photos and content related to trips they have made with
their friends. One feature of Bhasin's startup is in the way events in people's
lives relate them to other people, places, and interests, presented on an
interactive rich-media timeline.

Rajesh Razdan – decreasing the disturbance

Rajesh Razdan quit his well-paying job with a global cell phone company
to launch a small start-up to offer a slew of new services to cell phone
users. India’s recent economic boom, he said, was the perfect setting in
which to become an entrepreneur. For his new venture, mCarbon,
Razdan, 33, had developed sophisticated call-management technology
that included blocking unwanted calls on cell phones — a feature he
hoped to pitch to high-powered corporate executives.
Airtel, a large Indian telecommunications company that quickly signed on
as a mCarbon client, is planning to launch the “do not disturb” service
nationwide soon.

College Days
Remembering my class mates, after few years.
My eyes were filled with tears,
Everyone now is busy a lot,
No one escaped destiny's plot

Saw the girl, whom once i thought as my best frnd,

Oops! today she is somebody else's girlfrnd,
After months remembered about her for a little while,
Heard she is happy, that made me smile.

Project reviews to campus interviews,

Nicknames to last bench games,
Cultural reharsals to love proposals,
Short term crushes to class room blushes.

Everything is fresh in our mind,

Wish life could just rewind,
Let's laugh, play & rejoice,
Once again become school/college guys.

Chatting & laughing. We all were in elation,

Till the painful moments of sepration,
When it was time to part,
We returned with a heavy heart.

Today life is full of commitments, 9-11 Batch
And too many worries,
But those cherished moments,
Will live forever in our memories! ! !
Q. How do you feel about being chosen as the first star student?
A: It sounds great when you say first “ star” student and its my pleasure to be called by this name .It gives me an immense feeling by accepting this honour and for this I
would like to thank all the E-reflextion members.

Q. How you relate yourself with IGSM, its faculty and students here?
A: IGSM -one among the top institutes in Delhi and NCR… is growing by leaps and bounds and how I relate myself with it is true and as simple as a TREE.
It works as root having some branches in terms of faculty which contains leaves as students….how much fruits will grow depends upon how much stronger root we have and
I am one among those leaves who are preparing themselves to provide pulpy fruits.

Q. You are one of the active students of IGSM because of being involved in various extra-curricular activities, office bearer and member of club and committees, how do you
manage all this?
A: I believe that the difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems and this is the reason why I
always keep on trying new things because you never know which thing strikes you the best. Studying subjects will only show you a path, it is your nature , participation and
your extra-curricular activities which will show how creative, effective and efficient you are towards your life.

Q. What would you suggest if somebody else also want to become like you “All Variety in One Packet”?
A: I would suggest him that ….As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken
and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or may even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh
too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. you just have to live life to the fullest, tell
someone what they mean to you and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you
spend angry or the other second of happiness you can never get back.
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood that simply means “All Variety in One Packet”.

Q. What goals you have set for these two years and how you think IGSM can help you in achieving those goals?
A: Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history
of this IGSM.
For these two years, My goals are straight towards raising the brand name IGSM by taking the more advantages of the opportunities and giving the practical solution to the
problems by getting a good job.

Q. Which is your favorite pass time in Greater Noida and why?

A: My favorite PASS TIME here in greater Noida is Watching movies and why…..bcoz I don’t have any other option.

Q. What you would like to say about “E-Reflexion”?

“E-Reflexion” is a magazine having robes of a bridge which bridges the gap between igsm and its students. it is one of the best initiative taken by the e-reflexion members
which shows the stars and their thoughts in a very formal way…..
Go on e-reflexion….. we are with you…..
