It’s a story that you do not ever want to forget.

It has a beginning, middle and end.

Sensory Words and Details


ü Give information relating to five senses: touch, taste, sight, hearing,
and smell.

ü These words help readers form the events in pictures in their minds.

ü It makes writing stronger and more interesting for readers.

Examples:
o My kitten purred as I petted her soft, fluffy fur.

o We saw the clear blue ocean stretch from the shore.

o I heard the sizzle of the peppers when we added them to the skillet.

You can follow certain steps to make writing easier. These steps are called the writing
process. They help you think of what to write and how to write it.

I will show you how to follow these steps to write a personal narrative.
