PREFACE

This paper consist of one of the huge problem of our society today. People who are

engaging pre-marital sex today are totally not aware of the consequences that might come.

However, the government still lack in educating the people, especially the youth about the

danger and consequences about pre-marital sex. Parents also must look after their child

especially today that the word “sex” is really an attention grabber in today’s generation.

There are several factors as to why people engage in doing this kind of activity, first,

they’re really curious about the word “sex”, second, because they are influenced by their friends

or peer pressure, and another one is a lack of parental guidance. However, engaging pre-marital

sex can lead you in making wrong decisions. A decision that can be a hindrance to a better

future.

There are also several effects in this performance. Example is teenage pregnancy

that leads to unable to finish their studies because they have to take care their health especially

the health of the baby. Also an example is having a disease that is called AIDS. This disease is

really deadly that kills the immune system and this disease has no cure.

The government must focus on the youth today, to prevent the increasing

percentage of pre-marital sex. Not just the government, but also the parents. Parents are the first

one to look after their children so that they will know on what activities their children are up to.

Also people must be aware and try to look of what they might lose in entering sex before

marriage.

CHAPTER 1

I. Introduction to the Research Paper

Pre-marital sex is a huge problem in our society today. Pre-marital sex is a sexual

activity done by two persons or couples who are unmarried. People everywhere can’t wait

until they get married to have sex. People are not aware of the danger and consequences that

might come in having pre-marital sex. They just think that having sex is all about fun and

satisfaction. They don’t think what they might lose in doing this activity.

II. Introduction

Teenagers nowadays are engaging pre-marital sex. Teenagers that are engaging pre-

marital sex are mostly in a relationship. One of my example is my close friend. She engaged

pre-marital sex at a very young age. She did it with her boyfriend that time. I gave her

advices not to do it but she’s really stubborn. One day, she came to me crying and asking for

my help. She said she got pregnant. She didn’t know what to do with the baby since she is

only 15 and still studying at that time. Instead to be mad at her for not listening to my

advices, I helped her. I told her that she needs to tell her boyfriend and their both parents that

she got pregnant. She really cried that time because she’s really afraid of her parents. She’s

afraid because her parents did trust her too much. I told her that it’s her fault because she

engaged pre-marital sex at a very young age. I told her that they have to accept the baby

because it is still a blessing and there’s a purpose about what happened. And yes, she did tell

her parents about being pregnant. Her parents were very disappointed at her but they have no
choice, they have to accept the fact that she got pregnant. The parents of both sides did

accept the baby but weeks after, she got a miscarriage. She continued her studies after a

months of depression about losing her baby. And now, she is studying well and performing

well in their school.

In this present generation, teenagers are really liberated not like before in the

generation of Maria Clara, very conservative. Teenagers wear clothes that are too daring,

especially girls. They wear clothes that almost reveal their private parts. They wear really

short shorts that almost reveal their butts. They wear spaghetti straps that also reveals their

cleavages. Not like before, girls wear very long skirts that can also cover their feet. Before,

they wait until they get married before they engage into sexual activities. Today, even they

are still in a relationship as a girlfriend/boyfriend, they engage into sexual activities even

they are still not married.

III. Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to educate my fellow youth about the pre-marital sex.

To help them to become aware of the danger and consequences in doing this kind of activity.

The danger that they might get some diseases like AIDS that has no cure and STI.

Consequences that they might get pregnant and unable to finish their studies.

happen

Possible Solutions

V. Scope and Delimitation

The main goal of this study is to decrease the percentage of youth engaging pre-

marital sex. To let the people know that this kind of sexual activity still have danger and

consequences. To let them be aware that there are some things are much more important that

having pre-marital sex. Engaging to this kind of activity can lead us to the wrong path and wrong

choices that can affect our future.

VI. Statement of the Problem

 What are the causes of pre-marital sex?

 What are the effects of pre-marital sex?

 What are the possible solutions to prevent pre-marital sex?

VII. Study Relevance

A. The Youth – The youth must know the danger and consequences before

entering any activities like pre-marital sex. They must know if this activity can

be helpful to have a better future.

B. The Parents – The parents must focus on their children. They must know

what their children are doing. They must know what their children are up to.

They must also know what kind of friends their children have.
CHAPTER TWO

I. Causes of Pre-Marital Sex

A. Curiosity – Youth are really curious when it comes to the word “sex”. They are

curious because, first, sex education, second, what they saw on movies, and third,

what they saw on magazines. Youth are really curious because they have no

experience. They are really curious because of what they heard from people about

it. They are curious of the feeling that they will get in having sex and they want to

explore something.

B. Peer Pressure – When your friends already tried pre-marital sex and they kept on

telling you what happened. They kept on telling you the feeling they get during

the activity. They are forcing you to try it because they want you to feel what

they`ve felt, even if you don’t want to try it.

C. Lack of Parental Guidance – Youth that lacks parental guidance tend to be

victims of pre-marital sex. It’s because parents don’t focus on their children. They

don’t know what is happening on their children’s lives. They don’t have the time

to teach their children about the danger and consequences in committing pre-

marital sex. And children can’t open up their problems to their parents because

their parents are too busy to listen to them.

D. Driven by their feelings – This usually happens to people who are in a

relationship. They do pre-marital sex because they really love the person. They do

the activity because they think that when they do it, they will be together forever.

E. Threats – Threat can lead you to danger. This might happen if the boy wants pre-

marital sex and the girl don’t want to. The boy will threat the girl if the girl won’t

agree to the boy. So, the girl will be forced to do the activity even if she really

don’t want to.

F. Lack of Education – The most common victims are the native people. They

really do lack education. They believe that doing sex is having fun. So they do it

just for fun. They don’t know the meaning of it because no one can teach them.

Education is really a big problem in their society because their place is really far

from the city and no one would like to volunteer to go and teach them.

G. Drugs and Liquors – Youth who are taking these are victims of pre-marital sex.

When they took drug, the most affected part is the brain. You don’t know what is

happening around you when the drug hits you, so that’s the time the boys will

take advantage of you. When you drank a lot of liquors, you will get drunk. When

you will get drunk, you also don’t know what is happening around you. So, when

both of you are drunk, you will feel hot and that is when pre-marital sex happen.
H. Family History – Other people say, “History repeats itself.” What the youth saw

of their parents, sometimes they will also do it. If their parents are victims of pre-

marital sex, they will also do it. But, not all history repeats itself, it is your choice

that affects your future and change your history.

I. Obsession – Obsession can also lead to danger. When the boy is too much

obsessed to the girl and the girl will attempt to have a break-up, pre-marital sex

may happen that may lead to teenage pregnancy. This is where the boy is afraid

that the girl will leave her, so he get the girl pregnant so that the girl will not leave

him.

J. Money – Victims of these are those people who have their sugar daddy and

mommy. They enter to this kind of situations because they want something that

their parents can’t afford, and in order to have money from that person is to have

pre-marital sex with them. Also victims of this are the prostitutes, because they do

pre-marital sex for the sake of money.

II. Effects of Pre-Marital Sex

A. Teenage Pregnancy – The most common effect of pre-marital sex. It may happen

when both didn’t use any protection when doing this activity.
B. Diseases – You may get a disease from your partner. Most common diseases are

STI and AIDS. AIDS is a deadly disease because it slowly kills your immune

system and when your immune system is down, that is when you also slowly die

because AIDS has no cure.

C. Unable to finish you studies – It is connected with the teenage pregnancy. Once

you get pregnant when you are still a student, you really need to stop going to

school because you have to focus the health of the baby and yours. If you won’t

take care of the baby, you might get a miscarriage.

D. Discrimination – You will be discriminated by the society because you

committed pre-marital sex at a very young age. And to mention that our society

today are very judgmental. Discrimination can lead to depression and it also can

lead to death.

III. Possible places that Pre-Marital Sex may occur

A. Lodging House – A house in which the rooms are rented in a very small price.

This also can be rented for hours. When the couple wants to engage pre-marital

sex and they don’t want to get caught by their parents, they go to a lodging house

and rent a room for them to be able to do the activity.

B. House of the victims – Pre-marital sex may happen in their houses, especially

when only both of them are just present on that day.

C. House of a Friend – Pre-marital sex may also happen in a friend’s house,

because also the friend tried the activity and its ok for the friend if they do it in

their friend’s house.

D. Hotel – A Hotel is an establishment where you can rent a room. People who

engaged pre-marital sex usually did it in a hotel. In a hotel, no one can catch you

doing it and in a hotel, no one can disturb you while doing the activity. You are

free to do anything you want because you paid the room just like in a lodging

house.

IV. Possible Solutions to Prevent Pre-Marital Sex

A. Stay away from people who are a bad influence

You must choose the right people you are going to. People who are good

to you can also be a part in having a better future because they know what’s good

for you. Good people can influence you in a right way. They tell which are good

and bad for you. Because good people are just like your mother, mother’s knows

what’s best for you.

B. If possible, do not yet enter relationships

If you are not yet ready to enter into relationships, don’t try it. Think of a

problem that may come if you enter into a relationship that can affect your future.

Be a wise person in making such decisions. If you are really confused of the

problem, then seek help from other people especially your parents. Parents know

what’s best for you and for your future.

C. Prioritize Family and Studies

Prioritize family because they are always there for you no matter what

happen. They are always there for you in your up’s and down’s of your life. They are

the only one who can understand you and accept you for who you are, and they will

never leave your side. Prioritize your studies to achieve your goals in life. If you

don’t prioritize your studies, think about your parents who did sacrifice everything for

you. They sacrifice everything for you to have a better future. Sacrifice everything for

your own happiness. Prioritize studies to make your parents proud and happy. In

order for you to repay their sacrifices is through seeing you at the stage having a

diploma. That’s the best way in repaying them.

CHAPTER THREE

I. Research Method

I, the researcher, didn’t use any method such as survey or giving questionnaires. I

only relied my research paper on my thoughts, opinions and observations. I also used some

websites such as Google and Wikipedia to gather information. I also asked some people who are

victims of pre-marital sex about their experiences about the said activity. I asked some personal

questions that they also answered with sincerity and with full honesty, but I didn’t put the full

details here on my research paper. I, the researcher only wants to give you a research paper that

contains good information about the said topic. I did put everything in here all the informations

that I gathered. I assure you that all the informations that you can read in this research paper will

give you knowledge that you can share to all people.

II. Research Locale

This research paper is useful especially in secondary school. Youth nowadays,

even if they are still studying, they engage pre-marital sex at a very young age. Teachers

do teach sex education because of the order of the DepEd, but teachers must also teach

their students the danger and consequences of this activity.

III. Participants

A. The Youth

 Age: 14-17

 Type of people: Students

B. Adult

 18-24 (if not yet married)

 Type of people: Student/Employee

CHAPTER FOUR

I. Summary

Pre-marital sex is an activity done by persons that are not yet married. There are

many possible causes of pre-marital sex but the top of all is curiosity. Youth are really

curious because they still want to explore. And the word “sex” really grabs their

attention. There are also possible effects of pre-marital sex and the top of all is teenage

pregnancy. The government and the parents needs to cooperate in the lives of the youth

today because according to Dr. Jose Rizal, “The youth are the hope of our land”.

II. Conclusion

Therefore, I conclude that we can prevent pre-marital sex. We can make our

future better. We can help our fellow youth to make them understand the danger and

consequences of pre-marital sex. We can make our society better.

III. Recommendation

I recommend that the government, local officials must look after the youth.

They must make some seminars for the youth about pre-marital sex so that they can tell them

about the danger and consequences about the activity. The community also must cooperate

with the government because they are just doing what is good and right. The family must

focus on their children especially on the activities that they’re doing. They must protect their

children from any harm and danger.
