a) Do you agree with the differentiation between the West and the East? Where can you find the
Philippines in the distinction? What are the factors that make the Philippines similar or different
for its Asian neighbors? Is there also a difference between regions in the Philippines?
- Yes, I do agree with the differentiation between the West and the East because I could also
observe those differences between them through their culture. I am not really sure if where the
Philippines fit in the distinction because there are aspects in the Western countries that are also
observed in the Philippines and there are also Eastern aspects observed in the Philippines but for
me in my own observation, the Philippines fit mostly in the Western countries. The factors that
make the Philippines similar to its Asian neighbors are the aspects and culture that we have here
in the country which we have adopted even in the early 90's or earlier than that and it is different
to its Asian neighbors because we also have our own culture that we only observe from our own
country. I think there's not much difference between regions in the Philippines because based on
my study and observation, almost all of the people share the same culture and aspects in our
country.
