DEEPIKA PADUKONE’S DRAMATIC EYEMAKEUP

Deepika Padukone is known for her experimental looks. This year in Cannes, she went the
extravagant route—choosing a reverse cat-eye under the bottom lid makeup with a rose-pink
lip, while keeping the hair tight and sleek off her face.She attended the festival as the L'Oréal
Paris Global Ambassador.

FACE-

 The first step is prepping up the skin.Moisturiser and primer is used to smoothen and
even out the texture of the skin,as the skin looks smooth in the picture.The next step is
to use a dewy foundation for flawless and smooth base.As the campaign was of L'Oréal ,
L'Oréal Paris Infallible Foundation was used on her(mentioned in her instagram
post).Dab foundation on different places on the face and use a damp makeup sponge so
that the base is even.
 Next step is to apply concealer in the under eye area to hide dark circles.Colour
correction can be done prior to foundation if it is needed.Concealer can be put near the
area around the mouth if pigmentation is there.
 The base makeup is set with loose powder using a fluffy brush giving very little
pressure.Since her base is all smooth and glowy,a matte look is not desired so a lot of
powder is not required.The undereyes should be set well because of the bold eyelook
that will be done.
 She has a very light and soft contour on her face.This can be done using a bronzer or
contour powder.It is to be put below the cheekbones and slightly on the temple.Nose is
also contoured,though a very sharp contour is not there.
  The next step is to put blush in any coral shade.Again,the blush is kept soft and meshed
with the contour.Cream or powder blush can be used.
 The highlighter is not a very blinding one,just a natural glow on the high points of her
cheekbones.A little highlighter is to be put on the nose too.A champagne shade is used
in her look and any liquid illuminator/highlighter will do the job well.

EYES-

 Her brows are bold and completely filled in.So,brows should be outlined and filled using
a pencil /powder using small strokes in the direction of hair.If any gaps are there,it
should be filled properly.Brow gel can be used to finally set the brows.Highlight the
brow bone using highlighter.
 Put an eye primer on the lids. Then apply a chocolate brown eyeshadow to the brow
bone and at the inner corners of the eye. Dust a lighter shade at the crease to create
definition.
 Now,use a pen eyeliner to create the outline at the lower lashline,as it is easier to
outline it with that.Now fill in using a gel eyeliner.Make a reverse cat-eye winged liner
by extending the line towards inner and outer corner of the eye.Make the line sharp.If
there is any mistake,used makeup remover to make the eyeliner sharp and bold.Draw a
thin line on the upper eyelid too.Smudge it out a little.
 Apply thick coats of voluminising and lengthening mascara to both the upper and lower
lashes.Falsies can also be put,but it is optional as she does not have very thick lashes.
 Finish the makeup by applying a nude soft pink creamy soft textured lipstick.
 A makeup fixing spray can be used so that the makeup is locked.
HAIR-

Her hair is all pulled up into a very high and dramatic ponytail.Start by flat ironing the hair from
roots to end to ensure that strands are slick .Pull up the hair high and tie it.Apply a light hair gel
to the hair line and down the length of the tresses. She has hair extensions in this look.Attach
hair extensions to the base, and wrap it around the ponytail. Use a smoothing brush to tame
any flyaways, and wrap all the hair into a high, tight ponytail. Go back over the ponytail with a
fine-toothed comb to comb any flyaways down, and then spray the hair with a light
hairspray.This look can be created without hair extensions too.Thick and wide rubber bands can
be used to tie the high ponytail then a section of hair can be wrapped around it.
