THE DEVEOPMENT FEASIBILITY OF TOURISM OBJECT SEI BAKAU

BEACH IN SERUYAN DISTRICT, CENTRAL KALIMANTAN
PROVINCE

FAJAR RIDWAN

This study aims to determine the visitor’s perception about Sei Bakau
Beach and know the feasibility of developing Sei Bakau Beach attractions in
Seruyan District. This research was conducted on Tourism Object Sei Bakau
Beach in Sungai Bakau Village Seruyan Regency Central Kalimantan Province
Using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the feasibility of
Sei Bakau Beach Tourism development included in the category of potential
developed (B) with the value of 1750, with the value of each eriterion that is
acceessibility value 550 is included the category of potential developed (A), the
value of attractiveness is 900 and the value of facilities 210 is category quite
potential to be developed (B), and the value of accomodation 90 is category not
potential developed (C).

Drought Enhances the Role of Competition in

MediatingtheRelationshipbetweenTreeGrowthand Climate in Semi-Arid
Areas of Northwest China
Abstract: Climate variability can exert a powerful impact on biotic competition,
but past studies havefocusedlargelyonshort-
livedspecies,withalackofattentiontolong-livedspeciessuchastrees. Therefore, there
is a need to evaluate how competition regulates the climate-growth relationship in
mature trees. We sampled the dominant tree species, Picea wilsonii Mast., on
Xinglong Mountain, China, and studied the above issues by analyzing the
relationship between tree radial growth, precipitation, and competition. In
relatively wet years (precipitation > average), there was no significant difference
in climate sensitivity between different competition classes. However, trees
suffering from highly competitive stress were more sensitive to climate variability
in all years, and particularly in the subset of years that was relatively drought
(precipitation < average). These results suggest that competition enhances its
ability to regulate tree growth response to climate variability in adverse weather
conditions. Competition for resources between trees was asymmetrical, and an
increase in height could give trees a disproportionate benefit. Thus, at trunk-level,
both basal area incremental growth and intrinsic water-use efficiency of trees
subjected to low competitive stress were significantly higher than trees that are
subjected to highly competitive stress. Although the intrinsic water-use efficiency
of trees under highly competitive stress increased more rapidly as the drought
level increases, this did not change the fact that the radial growth of them declined
more. Our research is valuable for the development of individual-tree growth
models and advances our understanding for forest management under global
climate change.

DISCUSSION (PEMBAHASAN)
1. Abstract Comparison of the Arrangement (Perbandingan Abstrak
pada Bentuk Susunan)
Abstract form in library thesis with foreign thesis can be seen from the
way of writing. For the thesis of the library, it can be seen that there is no
explanation of how much area there is in the Sei Bakau beach tourism object in
Seruyan Regency. This of course makes the reader confused.
While for the overseas thesis the arrangement is very clear because in it
there is an introduction to the introduction of the weather climate and an
explanation of the ways and methods in learning climatic data and the temperature
contained for the following analysis, we only studied the response of tree growth
to precipitation.
