Checking-In at AMF Lanes

When you arrive to AMF Bowling Lanes just make sure that you a photo ID with you to check in
(Bruin ID is fine). The Dashew volunteers will help you enter the facility and let you know how
you can bowling, skate, or enjoying FREE pizza and soda! You will not be able to enter the
facility without a wrist band (you will receive one at check-in). You are welcome to bring your
own equipment (bowling balls, shoes, skates, etc) but it is not required. We will provide all
necessary equipment free of charge! There will also be a cash bar if you are over 21 and would
like to purchase alcohol. You MUST have a proper ID (passport, or CA or US issued ID) in
order to buy alcohol.

You are free to come and go at your leisure. We have reserved the facility from 12 PM to 4 PM
so you can come and go anytime between those hours. Please keep in mind that we will stop
assigning bowling lanes around 3:15 PM so if you want to bowl you should come before that
time.

You are also welcome to bring as many friends and family as you’d like. We ask that you
register on our website but it’s not required so we make sure to have enough food and drinks!

GETTING THERE…

You can arrive any time between 12 PM and 4 PM. Admission to bowling will end at 3:15 PM.

We are providing SEVERAL public transportation options to get from UCLA to the AMF
Midtown Lanes. Free parking is available for those driving. Any of these routes will get you
there and we have volunteers available to assist you. Please make use of the Metro website Trip
Planner http://socaltransport.org/tm_pub_start.php to find the best way to arrive to the event
from your location! Remember your Destination address is: 4645 Venice Blvd.

1. ACKERMAN TERMINAL

a. Bus Line: Take METRO Limited Line #305 (South) from Ackerman Terminal to Pico
Blvd & San Vicente Blvd.

b. Duration: The ride takes approximately 40 minutes and only departs ONCE PER HOUR
so please plan ahead. Leaves at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM.

c. Cost: $1.50 each way. Please have correct change.

d. Notes: We will have volunteers at Ackerman Terminal and at Pico Blvd/San Vicente to
assist you getting to the event. Please ask driver if you are unsure when to de-board the bus.

2. WESTWOOD & STRATHMORE (ACKERMAN TERMINAL)

a. Bus Line: Take CULVER CITY #6 from Westwood Blvd & Strathmore – Ackerman
Terminal (East) to Sepulveda Blvd & Pico Blvd (approx 20 min). Transfer at Sepulveda Blvd &
Pico Blvd to SANTA MONICA #7 (East). Exit at Pico Blvd & Rimpau Blvd – Bay 5 or 6
(approx 30 min).

b. Duration: Entire ride takes approximately 50 min. Buses run fairly regularly. (approx
every 15 minutes).

c. Cost: $0.70 each way with Bruin ID. ($1.50 each way without, need transfer ticket). Free
with Flash Pass. Have exact change ($0.35 for each leg of the ride).

d. Notes: We will have volunteers at Westwood & Strathmore and at Pico Blvd & Rimpau
Blvd to assist you getting to the event. Please ask driver if you are unsure when to de-board the
bus.

3. WESTWOOD & WEYBURN

a. Bus Line: Take SANTA MONICA #12 from Westwood Blvd & Weyburn Ave (South) to
Westwood Blvd & Pico Blvd (approx 12 min). Transfer at Westwood Blvd & Pico Blvd to
SANTA MONICA #7 (East). Exit at Pico Blvd & Rimpau Blvd – Bay 5 or 6 (approx 30 min).

b. Duration: Entire ride takes approx 45 minutes. Buses run fairly regularly. (approx every
15 minutes)

c. Cost: $0.70 each way with Bruin ID. ($1.50 each way without). Free with Flash Pass.

Westwood Blvd & Olympic Blvd (approx 10 min). Transfer at Westwood Blvd & Olympic Blvd
to SANTA MONICA #5 (East). Exit at Pico Blvd & Rimpau Blvd – Bay 4 (approx 30 min).

b. Duration: Entire ride takes approx 45 minutes. Buses run fairly regularly. (approx every
15 minutes)

c. Cost: $0.70 each way with Bruin ID. ($1.50 each way without, need transfer ticket). Free

5. WESTWOOD & WILSHIRE

a. Bus Line: Take METRO RAPID #720 from Westwood Blvd & Wilshire Blvd (East) to
Wilshire Blvd & La Cienega Blvd (approx 15 min). Walk East on Wilshire and North (Left) on
Gale Drive to Gale Dr & San Vicente Blvd. Take METRO EXPRESS LINE 550 (South) to San
Vicente Blvd & Tremaine Ave (approx 15 min).

b. Duration: Entire ride takes approx 35 minutes. Check schedule to see how often buses run.

c. Cost: $3.00 each way. Have exact change ($1.50 for each leg of the ride).

d. Notes: We will have volunteers at Westwood & Wilshire and at San Vicente Blvd &
Tremaine Ave to assist you getting to the event. Please ask driver if you are unsure when to de-
board the bus or how to transfer to the Metro Express 550.

6. DASHEW EVENT SHUTTLE (ACKERMAN TERMINAL)

a. Pick-up: If none of these other options work for you, the Dashew Center is sponsoring a
SHUTTLE to take you from Ackerman Terminal to the AMF Midtown Lanes. The pickups at
Ackerman will be APPROX 11:30 AM, 12:15 PM, 1 PM, 1:45 PM, and 2:30 PM. We will also
be returning folks from AMF Midtown Lanes to Ackerman Terminal at 3 PM and 4 PM. This
times are approximate based on traffic and how long it takes for the shuttle to fill.

b. Duration: Entire ride takes approximately 30 minutes.

c. Cost: Shuttle is FREE of charge.

d. Notes: We will have volunteers at Ackerman Terminal to assist you getting to the event.
Shuttle will take you to the entrance of the AMF Midtown Lanes.
