I. INTRODUCTION

II. METHODOLOGY

A. Chemicals and Apparatus

The chemical used during conducting the experiment is the hydrated compound. This includes
the apparatus used, namely; crucibles, tongs, analytical balance, spatula, dessicator, oven

B. Procedure
Crucibles are categorize into 3 sample trials (see, Figure 1.1). Crucibles without sample where
placed inside the oven and heated for around 110°C at exactly 30-minutes in period, the used of
tongs in handling the crucibles is highly recommended (see, Figure 1.2). After heating, allowing
for 1 minute to cool the crucible in place and additional 10 minutes upon transferred to dessicator
for moisturizing (see, Figure 1.3). Record the weigh value of crucible with lid, upon weighing in
the analytical balance. Obtaining the desired constant value of +- 0.0003g is a must, continuing
the heating process is required until constant weight achieved. The following must weigh the
samples of hydrated compound within the crucibles, at 1g of each trials after taring the analytical
balance. It follows the heating of crucibles inside the oven with lids ajar to took about 1 hour
period. At the end of 1 hour , repeat the cooling process till the obtained weight +-0.0003g
repeatedly continue heating till the values agree. Calculating the percent water in the sample and
report the answer. (see, Eq 1.2).
