CHAIRMAN'S INTRODUCTION

I
am delighted to pen this introduction to our 2013 edition of the British
Aviation Group (BAG) Directory. Designed for both our own Members
and external readership, it provides a comprehensive guide to the ever
increasing range of products and services that BAG represents.

As I write, our Members continue to enjoy enviable success in the airports

arena and BAG companies now operate in 150 countries worldwide with
‘good news’ stories, not just in the UK but from Hong Kong and China,
to the Middle East and Africa. Indeed, BAG Members are in, or have
recently worked in, all 60 of the busiest global international airports – a
remarkable statistic. As an association, BAG has a great story to tell, and an
unrivalled breadth and depth of aviation expertise to offer from design and
construction, through to professional services, operations and equipment
supply. A quick reference overleaf will show just how comprehensive that
aviation market coverage is!

Our powerful record of achievement is not only reflected in our steadily increasing membership but was
a cornerstone of our recent, successful bid to UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) to deliver a new, two-year,
framework contract for all of the airport sector overseas missions, seminars and inward visits. That work
has already commenced, and a busy programme of activity including China, Brazil, Saudi, India, Libya,
Russia and other countries, is already advertised on our website with more details to follow. In addition, we
will also be rolling out our own programme of events, building on the regular ‘sold out’ notices of 2012.

Challenges, not least the ongoing economic climate and the UK’s consideration of aviation capacity,
of course, remain, and that makes it imperative that BAG continues to be innovative and proactive in
representing the interest of Members, not only in the marketplace identifying business opportunity but
in our interface with Government. We are endeavouring to do this through a range of work initiatives
including ‘Member Engagement’ to policy, communications and the optimisation of mission opportunities.
This effort will help ensure that BAG remains to the forefront as the UK’s industry-leading organisation for
companies involved in aviation and airport development.

In conclusion, BAG has had a very successful 2012, with 2013 promising even more. If you are an existing
BAG Member, I hope that our directory is helpful in promoting your own company interest while, for those
of you who are external readers, our aim is to give you a good sense of the range of expertise that we
have as a trade association.
