Dear Church Family,

Thanks to those of you who reminded me of my birthday! Really, I
appreciate all the cards, gifts and words of affirmation. I knew there was a
reason that I am slowing down. God is gracious and I am grateful for His
“sustaining grace” in my life and yours.
I have been in a series on Sunday mornings called “Who’s Your One”? It is
part of our 3 X 3 Evangelism Campaign. October 20 is “Bring Your One
Day”. I want to encourage everybody to bring one person with you to Bible
study and worship that Sunday. Just think, if everyone brought one, we
would double our attendance. That is not hard to do. I am asking you to
participate. Then, keep praying for that one, so that given the opportunity
you might share the good news about Jesus with that person.
I want to challenge those of you who do not attend a small group Bible study
(LIFE group) to do so. Not only is it a great opportunity to learn God’s word,
but also you will find fellowship and develop friendships with others. God
never intended for His people to be “Lone Rangers” in their spiritual journey.
We all need others who will support and encourage us- to love us, pray for
us, laugh with us, even cry with us if need be. Life is sometimes a challenge
and I encourage you to be involved with a small group to help you in the
midst of those challenges.

know, until you get to heaven, what an influence you have had in the lives of

“Bring Your One Day”

PRAY FOR THEM - Pray for God to:

• Move them to repentance and saving faith (Luke 13:3; Ephesians 2:8-9)
• Tear down any strongholds that are keeping them from salvation (1 Corinthians 10:3-5)
Make their heart receptive to the Gospel (Acts 16:14)

BRING THEM TO HEAR THE GOSPEL - Bringing a friend to church involves them in Biblical community
and provides them with opportunities to hear and respond to the Gospel. Invite them to join you for
Sunday School and worship.

• Bring them to an evangelistic event, such as Vacation Bible School, or Trunk or Treat.
Bring them to a Sunday School outreach social especially designed for lost/unchurch friends to meet
people, learn about your Sunday School group, and hear a testimony (eat, meet, and share)

SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH THEM - Sharing the Gospel allows a friend to learn about your own legacy
of faith and the Gospel, plus have a conversation so that they may more fully understand and personally
commit to Jesus Christ.

• Learn how to share your personal legacy of faith (Share your story)
• Learn a simple and effective way to share the Gospel
Be aware of and take opportunities to share the Gospel with friends or others you will meet.

Trunk or Treat is an event where people from church gather in the parking lot, fill their
decorated trunks with candy, and allow kids to trick or treat at all the cars. This event is a
great opportunity to connect with the community. We are in need of volunteers, vehicles
and tons of candy! Candy may be dropped off at the office or the church foyer. Please

Diaper Goal: 1 Million - Drive ends Nov. 10, 2019

To Our Church Family,
Words are inadequate to express how much you
have meant to us since David’s tragic death. Your
hugs, prayers, visits, meals, flowers, cards, phone
calls and donations to Gideons and our church
have been such a comfort to us. You are such a
wonderful loving and caring family God has used
to provide strength for us each day. Thank you
form the bottom of our hearts.

The Orphan Sunday diaper drive is our annual
effort to collect 1 Million individual diapers for
children served through foster care, single mom’s
ministry, pregnancy care centers and compassion
ministries, as well as internationally.
As an individual, group, church, or business, you
have the ability to help us meet this growing need
and make a difference in the life of a child!
All sizes of diapers are needed and appreciated.
Diapers for older children (sizes 4 and above),
including pull-ups, are especially needed.
As of Wednesday, September 25, First Baptist has
donated 721 diapers.
