INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is refers to obtaining knowledge, increasing skills
and ability of a human being to achieve the goals. It can be develop through proper training,
planning for personal requirement and work analysis. This report will evaluate the approaches of
self-learning and its benefits for individual and organization (Mano, 2010). It will also explain
the responsibility for personal and professional development and information for learning,
planning and monitoring progress towards the achievement of objective. In the end report will
recommend approaches of self managed learning and tactics to provide solutions for work-based
problems. Also discuss the process and activities required to implement the developed plan
(Laired and Naqin, 2004).

TASK 2 RESPONSIBILITY FOR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL


DEVELOPMENT
2.1 Current skills and competencies against professional standard
To match the professional standard of the organization I have to improving some
qualities to sustain and achieve the objectives of organization.
 Time management: To complete my task effectively and on time I require time
management skills. For the purpose of improving skills I have to to attain different
training activities that are held at workplace or outside the company (Prokopenko, 2004).
In addition to this, I will also direct my efforts in terms of reading the books, journals and
practice for writing. This will help to manage time and other related skills in a successful
manner.
 Communication skills: For the improvement in this area I need to perform more
presentation and group discussion on various topics. It will aid me to have strong
communication skills.
 Leadership skills: This quality comes through motivation and confidence. For inspiration
I can read books of famous people (Sims, 2010). Confidence come from the success in
work for that I needs to do hard work to accomplish task.

For effective management and leadership I can prefer visual, auditory and regular
practice to overcome my weakness. For good team member I have to be good listener, time
management and presentation skill I need regular practice to improve them.

As a learner I need to identify my skills and has to develop more skills to mark my
presents in organization. In that process I required knowledge of IT that can be develop through
joining courses and self practices. In order to polish time management quality I can plan daily
activity and try to perform them on allotted time. In order to develop diverse organizational
quality I have to complete my assignments in the given time this will make me able to enroll in
different business related skills. For achieving goals I require a Leadership skill that comes from
self motivation and confidence (Trong, 2013). I have to think innovative to reduce the time and
cost of task. As a seller I have to distinguish my target audience for achieving individual goals
for the company. There is also a need of research about their culture or buying behavior. Taking
Participation in the advance activate plan for organization I has to improve vision power. For
better knowledge gaining purpose I can seek to technology to reduce time of work (Boaden,
2006).

CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that personal and professional development is
to make improvement in the skills of the individual. The skills required to meet the objectives of

the company can be developed by self managed learning and training session. Every employee
has to discover and improve their skill to sustain position in organization. They have to identify
the need of time and develop skills accordingly. A skill development plan is based on the
personal and professional need. In the end the report suggests continues enhancement in the
skills which are the basis of successful person and organization.
