Individual Career Plan

I see my lifelong career somewhere in the medical field. I see either an Anesthesiologist,

general physician, surgeon or pediatrician. I have an interest in all these aspects but the decision

comes down to how long I want to be in school and the type of scholarships I get as an

undergraduate and if it allows me more money for post graduate. All these careers are pretty

similar in terms of their goal: helping people.

I see myself in medical school or Physician Assistant’s program. If I decide I don’t want to

be in school for much longer I will take the PA program. I will be in my final year and about to

be licensed to do what Physicians are allowed to do. If I choose to go to medical school, I will be

in my second year, still learning in the classroom. After the second year I will be able to start my

residency.

I have always been a STEM person. I love science and math and those are my strong

subjects. I excel at them. I also love helping people. It gives me a euphoric rush every time I

perform a good deed.

I love hands on activities, and I would love to think I have a stable hand as well as hand-eye

coordination. Over the summer of 2018, I attended the NSLC for medicine and learned how to

suture and perform brain surgery on a pig's brain. That is where I really fell in love with the field

of medicine. I also have an aunt who teaches me information about diseases in the human body

on a regular basis.

I know the requirements to become a doctor. You must go to undergraduate school and can

major in anything. Then you must pass the Medical School Admissions Test(MSAT) and then

get accepted into medical school. If I wanted to become a physician assistant, I would instead
enrolled in a program. During medical school, I have to complete my residency and from there

depending on my career go to a program designed for my specialty.

I plan to attend a four-year university where I will most likely major in Biology or

Biomedical Science on a Pre Med track. After undergraduate school I plan to go to medical

school and then complete my residency program, and get my specialization and license for the

state I wish to practice in. While I am in undergraduate, I plan to try out for the club basketball

team and work a job. Also before I get sucked into my career, I want to be on a show like The

Challenge, Big Brother, or Survivor in my early 20s.

I wish to pursue a degree in biology or biomedical science. Within my major I plan to be on a

Pre-med track. I may want to minor in something, probably something related to Business

because I would like to be able to run my own practice the proper way.
