HIGHLIGHTS
 A massive strength of 1681 ALPs (RRB recruited from April-2013 to
March 2014) trained at ETTC/BZA with the available resources.
 In a short span of 6 months (October ’13 to March ’14) 518 ALPs
were given promotional training to become Loco Pilot (Goods).
 ETTC/BZA catering the training needs of other zones such as ECoR
and WCR.
 Software for “Gyan Kasouti” is developed in three languages by
ETTC/BZA and installed in all crew lobbies of South Central Railway.
 Power point presentation “Gyan Deep” on Technical and Safety
aspects is developed by ETTC/BZA and same was installed in all crew
lobbies of South Central Railway.
 Software for “Automatic question paper” is developed by ETTC/BZA
and question paper (random selection) is selected just 10 minutes
before the examination to maintain the transparency.
 “CBC working model” was commissioned in ETTC premises for
practical demonstration to all the trainees.
 For improving the effectiveness of the trainee, this Institute is
conducting safety seminars, health camps, yoga, stress releasing
lectures by Brahma Kumaris and Physical Education Training.
 Day to day unusual from 2011 till date (technical and safety related)
were analyzed and case studies were prepared and discussed in the
classrooms for all the courses.
 “Vignana Jyothi”, an in-house news magazine (bi-lingual) is being
published by ETTC/BZA on technical aspects, case studies on
accident/unusual occurrences, modifications and distributing to
running staff of all divisions.
 Yoga, meditation and physical education training is also imparted to
the trainees.

Brief History about Electric Traction
Training Centre, Vijayawada.

Electric Traction Training Centre/Vijayawada has started


functioning in the year 1979 in a temporary building in the premises of
RE Office complex. Later, in the year 1984, it was shifted to
Satyanarayanapuram. On 01-09-2013, it was shifted to the present new
building. It is headed by a Principal (Junior Scale Officer) under the
administrative control of Sr.DEE/OP/BZA.

ETTC imparts various trainings viz; initial, refresher,


promotional and special courses to Running, TRS, EMU & TRD staff of
S.C.Railway and occasionally to staff of other Railways at their request.
Training on 3 phase locomotives was commenced from Jan‘07.

For practical training, the trainees are sent to Loco shed,


EMU/MEMU car shed, TLC office, TPC, TSS, C&W depots etc. Training
calendars are prepared & advised to the divisions every calendar year.

Institute is having 14 Instructors (01 TRD, 03 TRS & 10


Running) for imparting training. Proposal for creation of one instructor
each for TRD & TRS is in progress to meet the training needs.

FACILITIES AVAILABLE at ETTC

E-LEARNING
Duly integrating available videos, interactive circuits, animated
circuits and audio-visual aids with software, Self-learning module
covering Pneumatic as well as Power and Control Circuits have been
developed.

and modified as per the
new training modules
received from Railway
Board.

Trainees are being demonstrated on securing of CBC and changing of


knuckle.

NEW CLASS ROOMS with Modern Teaching Aids

NEW CLASS ROOMS


Twelve classrooms are available. All classrooms are equipped
with modern teaching aids viz., LCDs, PCs, Modern furniture.

NEW AUDITORIUM

An auditorium with a seating capacity of 200 Approx. is very


much useful to conduct Seminars, meetings and final examinations.

LIBRARY

Library is provided with 1,648 books consisting ACTM, CLW


manuals, CAMTECH manuals, books on Establishment matters, IRIEEN
journals, G&SR, accident manuals etc., are available for reference by
the trainees. Library is strengthened with addition of Hindi books
purchase of New books every year.

IN-MOTION LOCO SIMULATOR (WAG-7 / WAP-4)

Simulator for conventional locos was commissioned during


the year 2006. As on 31.10.15, 14577 loco running staff has been
trained on the simulator. Simulator is being used round the clock, in
three/four shifts.

YOGA, MEDITATION

The main goals of “Yoga in Daily Life” are: Physical Health, Mental
Health, Social Health, Spiritual Health, Self- Realization or realization
of the Divine within us.
These goals are attained by:
 Love and help for all living beings
 Respect for life, protection of nature and the environment
 A peaceful state of mind
 Full vegetarian diet
 Pure thoughts and positive lifestyle
 Physical, mental and spiritual practices
 Tolerance for all nations, cultures and religions

Art Of Living

Apart to the training of YOGA to the trainees the Art Of Living is also
been introduces at ETTC/BZA for inculcating the simple methodology
for eradicating stress and achieving agile health.

Stress Management

The duties of loco pilots concerned with the speed and time for running
of trains duly ensuring safety in operations. Hence there is every chance
of subjecting to the stress either mentally and physically. To eradicate
the stress among loco running staff for smooth and healthy train
operation stress relief system has become essential. Otherwise, it leads
to the consequences like falling ill health physically and mentally,
causing erratic operations, in activeness and inefficiency hampering the
safety and punctuality train operations. In Vijayawada Division, TRSO
organization at ETTC/BZA implemented training to the trainees on this
stress relief system encouraging the loco running staff to put in practice
in their daily life with a relief to have better stress relief life.
