Chapter 1

LESSON 1 – INTELLECTUAL REVOLUTION THAT DEFINED SOCIETY

 How did society shape science & how did science shape society ?

- Science is knowledge that evolves with the society by improving everyday

human life. With progress of the society science is made as separate branch
of knowledge based on observable/measurable physical evidences

 How do social & human issues influence science ?

- Social and human issues often provide the impetus (power comes from the
body moves) for scientific research. For example, conflict incites science to
find new means of protecting us
- Seeing, tutoring and experiences in which human must be flexible to move by
own.

LESSON 2 – SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND NATION BUILDING

 What are the significant contrubutions of the spaniards & americans to the
developments of science & technology in the philippines ?

- Transporations, like; ships, air, etc...

- Machines
- Radio
- Telephone
- Tape recorder
- Xray scanner
- Smart phones
- EArly phones
- But most importantly because of this two foreign countries Philippines
has evolved because of the new technology

Also, The philippines in new era have had the ideas to create the own product
by the help of the filipino’s taking a computer and technology experiment

 How does school science shape science and technology in the philippines ?

- Often its the education system that first teaches kids science though at
times the child might have a friend who loves science and teaches kids
science
- school science at the high school and elementary levels had very little
resemblance to college level science. And even college level science
didn’t do much to prepare me for science in the professional world. This is
only at a bachelor’s level

LESSON 3 – SCIENCE EDUCATION IN THE PHILIPPINES

 discuss science related issues & problems in the philippines ?

- Environmental issues in the Philippines. ... Other

environmental problems that the country is facing include pollution, illegal
mining and logging, deforestation, dynamite fishing, landslides, coastal
erosion, wildlife extinction, global warming and climate change.

 what science and technology related policies / pragrans could be develop and
implemented to solve the issues?
- First and foremost Filipinos had discovered this technology as renewable
the first used of technology has been approve by scientific skils like the
used of Generators and Computers, Smart phones, Laptops, Ipads

- Às you can see this were the reasons why are we on social media now
adays we get updated by the current issues from the different parts of the
world the development is technology can help our economy more
accessible and faster communication work skills or some important
uses, the policies might be discussed some important facts about the used
of technology
CHAPTER 2
LESSON 1 – HUMAN FLOURISHING
 What is human flourishing ?
- Flourishing is "a state where people experience positive emotions, positive psychological
functioning and positive social functioning, most of the time," living "within an optimal
range of human functioning.
- In a living with a different places like first time or going somewhere always saying “home
sick” a term that may remembered the natural habit living with the human.

 How is science and technology related to human flourishing ?

- Science is the study of the natural world by collecting data through a systematic process
called the scientific method. And technology is where we apply science to create devices
that can solve problems and do tasks. Technology is literally the application of science.
So, it really is impossible to separate the two.
- Therefore, the science and technology have the easy way result for the human life

 Science as education ?
- Education as a Science. Science is defined as “the intellectual and practical activity that
encompasses the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and
natural world through observation and experiment”. Science relies on the accumulation
of previously acquired knowledge
LESSON 2 – TECHNOLOGY AS SA WAY OF REVEALING

 What do you think would happened to human kind if technology did not exist ?
- If technology did not exist, we would still be in the pre-history stage and there would
be no record, eg no technological record, of our history. We started drawing on in the
sand or cave walls and communicating with burnt stick images. The The period prior
to this is referred to as “prehistory” because, with no writing tools, there is no
historical record.

 What is the essence of technology the human kind ?

- the essence of technology is not something we make; it is a mode of being, or of
revealing. This means that technological things have their own novel kind of presence,
endurance, and connections among parts and wholes. They have their own way of
presenting themselves and the world in which they operate.
LESSON 3 – THE GOOD LIFE
 What is the good life ?
- Is a term for the life that one would like to live, or for happiness, associated is a central
aim of development of self-control and fortitude as a means of overcoming destructive
emotions.

 What is the relationship between the good life and science ?

- I think that acquiring a scientific attitude towards life may help you in dealing with
some sufferings of life. Like if you’re very scared of the dark, you can try to convince
yourself that it is just a little amount of light that my eye cannot see, there’s nothing
to be scared about.

 Does technology always lead us to the good life ?

- Now so many people are sitting in front the computer and their butt gets bigger than
their body and most have to wear glasses. Instead of walking a few blocks to work
everyone takes a vehicle and escapes the beneficial exercise they so badly needs.

- In Education, It helps to learn further and explore and research things apart from
what is being taught. These days, there are a variety of mobile phone applications
that give us answers within a touch of a button.
