In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful,
The Bestower of Mercy

Asalaamu alaykom wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatu,

All praise is to Allah , the Lord of the universe, and peace be upon our Prophet
Muhammad , the seal of prophets, and upon his household, companions, and all
those who follow their example until the end of time.

Jazaakom Allahu khairun! (May Allah reward you with goodness, Ameen) for
purchasing ‘My First Islamic Activity Pack’ from UmmAssadHomeSchool.Com

I pray to Allah that He brings to you all good benefit through true
knowledge, righteous actions and good deeds, Ameen.

'My First Islamic Activity Pack' is made by UmmAssadHomeschool.com and
aims to help young children aged 4-8 years to understand themselves and the
world around them from a pure Islamic point of view (only authentic resources
from the Quran, Hadith and trusted Scholars have been used). It introduces
the correct Islamic Aqeedah with fun yet challenging activities without losing
the message; also nurturing a child’s belief and love for Allah and His
Messenger and familiarising them to follow evidences. All topics included are
based on Aqeedah, teaching the most beneficial knowledge (Islam) and asking
questions that matter most such as 'Who is you Lord' and 'Who is your
Prophet' and 'What is your religion'. Explaining in simple terms the different
types of creation and its purpose, thus leading into subjects such as Science
and Geography. The activities interact with children at their level whilst
involving parent/guardian or teacher; a range of activities have been packed to
keep any child productively busy in their ‘spare time’ such as letter, number and
colour recognition, guided reading, writing, colouring, eye coordination skills,
fine motor skills, quizzes, wordsearch games and much more. It's a must have
for any child beginning to study Islam.

Please subscribe, share and send us your reviews. Jazaakom Allahu khair!

Yours Sincerely,
*This ‘Islamic Activity Pack’ is proof-read by Al-Madinah
University graduate and student of knowledge Abdul-Hakeem

About Knowledge

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

• Allah has affirmed knowledge for Himself and praised it.

• Knowledge comes before speech and action.
• The Quran and Hadith is knowledge revealed from Allah
• The Quran = Allah’s Speech.
• Hadith = the Prophet speech, approval and actions.
• The Scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets.
• Everything that Allah and His Prophet say is true.
• We always need to be careful who we take knowledge from.
• Islam must be followed with the understanding of the ‘Salaf’.
• The ‘Salaf’ are the three rightly guided generations; First is the Prophet
and his companions, then the two next generations who followed them.
• There are two types of knowledge a Muslim seeks, the obligatory
knowledge and the recommended knowledge.
• Obligatory knowledge is what every Muslim needs in order to know what
is required from him in worship to his Lord with proof.
• Recommended knowledge is extra Islamic knowledge after that.

Ibn al-Qayyim (Scholar) rahimahullah said, “There are 6 stages to knowledge:

1. Asking questions in a good manner.

2. Remaining quiet and listening attentively.
3. Understanding well.
4. Memorising.
5. Teaching.
6. This is its fruit: Acting upon the knowledge and keeping to its limits.”

[Miftah Darus-Sa’adah (p.283)]

The Prophet said: “Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim.”

“When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the
understanding of Deen.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Allah says: “O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey His Messenger and all
those in authority over you.” (Quran. Surah 4, ayah 59)

About Kufr, Shirk and Bidah

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

In order to avoid all evil, we need to learn and understand what evil is.

Kufr • To ‘disbelieve’.
• Minor kufr is a temporary disbelief and is at the time when
someone is committing a certain evil.
• Major kufr has 5 types: rejecting the truth, arrogance of
truth, turning away, doubts and hypocrisy.

Allah says:

"And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then
they are the disbelievers.” (Quran. Surah 5, ayah 44)

Shirk • To ‘ascribe partners’ with Allah in His Lordship/Worship.

• Comparing Allah to the creation.
• Taking the rights of Allah and giving it to the creation.
• Minor shirk does not take a person out of Islam. E.g.
Showing off (in worship) for the people.
• Major shirk takes a person out of Islam until they repent.
E.g. When someone puts their reliance, hope and fear into
the creation other than Allah for things only Allah can
give; in sacrificing, seeking protection, calling upon etc.

Allah says:

"Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with

Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to
whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allah in
worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin." (Quran.
Surah 4, ayah 48)

“Worship Allah and do not join anything with Him (in worship).”
(Quran. Surah 4, ayah 36)

Bidah • This is when someone ‘invents something new’ to Islam

without evidence from the Quran and authentic Hadith.
• The Prophet warned us against the innovators; not to be
friends with them, not to encourage them in any way and not
to benefit from them.

The Prophet said:

"Whoever introduces into this affair of ours that which does

not belong to it, will have it rejected." (Sahih Bukhari and
Muslim).

"Every innovation is misguidance and all misguidance is in the

Hellfire." Reported by an-Nasaa'ee (Sahih)

"Whoever innovates or accommodates an innovator then upon

him is the curse of Allah, His Angels and the whole of mankind.”
(Sahih Bukhari and Muslim).

Where is Allah ?

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher). Trace the sentence below.

Allah is above the Throne.

• The Throne (‘Arsh) is very big and great

• It’s so big that it covers the whole universe
• It is also the ceiling of Paradise
• It is the greatest thing created by Allah
• Nothing is above this Throne except for Allah
• It has four legs and is carried by Angels

Allah is above this Throne!

Allah says:
“The Most Gracious (Allah) rose over (Istawa) the (Mighty) Throne (in a
manner that suits His Majesty.)” (Quran. Surah 20, ayah 5)

“Indeed your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six
Days, and then He rose over (Istawa) the Throne (in a manner that suits His
Majesty). He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and
(He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely,
His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the
'Aalamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)” (Quran. Surah 7, ayah 54)

“And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the
Throne of your Lord above them.” (Quran. Surah 69, ayah 17)

My Prophet is Muhammad

Read (Parent/Guardian or Teacher). Colour in the picture below.

Prophet Muhammad came with the same message that all prophets came
with; Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa and Eesa (peace be upon them all); they
taught us to believe in one god (Allah ) and worship Him alone. Prophet
Muhammad is the last messenger; he taught us to be truthful, love and be
dutiful to our parents, help the poor and needy, be good to our neighbours,
that this life is temporary and everything is a trust from Allah ; the earth,
our wealth, families and our bodies and we must take care of them because
one day we will all answer to Allah for all our deeds both good and evil.

When we hear the Prophet’s name we say, ‘Sal-Allahu alayhi wa sallam.’ ( )

This means ‘May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him’. (Read in the Quran:
Surah 33, ayah 56)

Allah says: “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the
Messenger of Allah and the last of the Prophets.” (Quran. Surah 33, ayah 40)

“…And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight
Path.” (Quran. Surah 42, ayah 52)

“And verily, you (O Muhammad) are on an exalted (standard of) character.”

(Quran. Surah 68, ayah 4)

My Religion is Islam

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher). Recite the Surah together.

• Allah chose Islam for us as our Religion

• Islam is submission to Allah in His Law and Decree without doubting
or changing the truth
• It is to know Allah , His Messenger and Islam
• To do this only with evidence in the Quran, Sunnah of the Prophet
with the understanding of the Salaf taught by trusted Scholars and
their trusted students
• We must always act upon it, call others to the truth and bear patience
for any harm that comes its way.

Allah says in Surah Asr:

[1] ‘(I swear) By ‘The Time’
[2] Verily Mankind is at a state of loss
[3] Except for those who believe
And do righteous deeds
And enjoin one another upon the truth
And enjoin one another upon patience.’

Imam Ash-Shaafee, a scholar in Islam (May Allah have mercy upon him) said:

“If Allah had sent down no other proofs to His creation except for this
Surah, it would have been sufficient for him.”

Allah says: “This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My
Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” (Quran.

About Islam

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

The Hadith of Angel Jibreel (peace be upon him)

'Abdullah bin 'Umar said:

"Umar bin Al-Khattab told me: 'While we were with the Messenger of Allah
one day, a man appeared before us whose clothes were very white and whose
hair was very black. We could see no signs of travel on him, but none of us
knew him. He came and sat before the Messenger of Allah , putting his
knees against his, and placing his hands on his thighs, then he said: "O
Muhammad, tell me about Islam." He said: "It is to bear witness that there is
none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the
Messenger of Allah, to establish the Salah, to give Zakah, to fast Ramadan,
and to perform Hajj to the House if you are able to bear the journey." He
said: "You have spoken the truth." And we were amazed by his asking him, and
then saying, "You have spoken the truth". Then he said: "Tell me about Iman."
He said: "It is to believe in Allah , His Angels, His Books, His Messengers,
the Last Day, and in the Divine Decree, its good and its bad." He said: "You
have spoken the truth." He said: "Tell me about Al-Ihsan." He said: "It is to
worship Allah as if you can see Him, for although you cannot see Him, He
can see you." He said: "Tell me about the Hour." He said: "The one who is
asked about it does not know more about it than the one who is asking." He
said: "Then tell me about its signs." He said: "When a slave woman gives birth
to her mistress, when you see the barefoot, naked, poor shepherds competing
in making tall buildings.'" 'Umar said: 'Three (days) passed, then the
Messenger of Allah said to me: "O 'Umar, do you know who the questioner
was?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "That was
Jibreel, peace be upon him, who came to you to teach you your religion."

Acts of Worship

Discuss different acts of Worship to Allah then list them in the space below.

Besides the 5 Pillars of Islam, there are many other types of worship that
Muslims can do. Worship is an act of obedience to Allah in the heart, tongue
and body. An example of the heart would be love and hate for the sake of
Allah , fearing Him, and having the correct belief. Tongue is about the
speech, and body is actions/deeds. Obedience is also to follow the Prophet .
We can find proof to these in the Quran and authentic Hadith. For example:

Being kind to parents (for the sake of Allah)

Animals, Insects, Bugs, Reptiles and Amphibians. In them we can find many
benefits for us such as food, drink, clothes, travel and medicine.

“And Allah has created every animal from water: of them there are some that
creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs: and some that walk on four.
Allah creates what He wills; for verily Allah has power over all things.”
(Quran. Surah 24, ayah 45)

“And Who has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and
cattle on which ye ride.” (Quran. Surah 43, ayah 12)

“And cattle He has created for you (men): from them ye derive warmth, and
numerous benefits, and of their (meat) ye eat. And ye have a sense of pride
and beauty in them as ye drive them home in the evening, and as ye lead them
forth to pasture in the morning. And they carry your heavy loads to lands that
ye could not (otherwise) reach except with souls distressed: for your Lord is
indeed Most Kind, Most Merciful. And (He has created) horses, mules, and
donkeys, for you to ride and as an adornment; and He has created (other)
things of which ye have no knowledge. The Almighty alone can show the right
path but there are ways that turn side; if God had willed, He could have
guided all of you.” (Quran. Surah 16, ayah 5-9)

“And there is no (moving) living creature on earth but its provision is

dependent on Allah. And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the
uterus, grave). All is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz - the Book of

Benefits from Weather

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

Wind:

The winds of mercy: Then they are the winds that scatter clouds, and those
winds precede the rain, the winds that come in succession, and the winds that
scatter dust.

It is reported from ‘Ubayd b. ‘Umayr – Allah have mercy on him – that he said:
“It used to be said when winter came: O people of the Quran, the night has
become long so you can pray (more) and the day has become short for you to
fast.” (Abu Nu’aym, Hilyah Al-Awliya.)

Rain:

Allah says: “And it is He Who sends the winds as news of glad tidings from
His Mercy (rain), and We send down pure water from the sky. That We may
give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the
cattle and men that We had created. And indeed We have distributed it (rain
or water) amongst them in order that they may remember (the Grace of
Allah), but most men (refuse to accept the Truth or Faith and) accept nothing
but disbelief or ingratitude.” (Quran. Surah 25, ayah 48-50)

Harms from Weather

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

Wind:

The winds of punishment: Then they are the barren wind, and the violent
winds, both of them are in the mainland; and the storm wind, and the roaring
wind with thunder, and they are both in the sea.

When a wind would blow violently, the Prophet used to say:

“O Allah! Verily I ask you for the best good of it, and the best of what is in
it, and the best of what You have sent with it, and I seek refuge with You
from the evil of it, and the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what you sent
with it.” (Recorded by Muslim)

Rain:

Narrated Nafi': “Once on a very cold and stormy night, Ibn 'Umar pronounced
the Adhan for the prayer and then said, ‘Pray in your homes.’ He (Ibn 'Umar)
added. ‘On very cold and rainy nights Allah's Apostle used to order the
Mu'adhdhin to say, ‘Pray in your homes.’” (Bukhari. Volume 1, Book 11, 635)

Allah Created Things We Can’t See

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

Here is a list of things in the ‘Unseen’. Can you think of anymore?

Allah says: “And with Him are the keys of the ‘Ghaib’ (all that is hidden),
none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in the land and in
the sea; not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness
of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record.”
(Quran. Surah 6, ayah 59)

Description of Angels

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

The Prophet said: “Angels were created from light.” (Muslim)

Their appearance is nothing like we can imagine; They have wings (2,3 or 4)
are huge in size and so many in number (only Allah knows). They have no
free will like humans and all obey Allah in everything.
Each have their own duty set by Allah :

Angel Jibreel: Responsible for the revelation
(Read: Quran. Surah 66, ayah 12) (This brings life to the hearts)

Angel Mika’eel: Responsible for the rain
(Read: Quran. Surah 2, ayah 98) (This brings life to the earth)

Angel Israfeel: Responsible for blowing the Trumpet

by Allah’s Permission
(Read: Quran. Surah 39, ayah 68)
(This will bring back life to the
bodies on Judgement Day)

Malik-al-Mawt (Angel of Death): Responsible for taking the soul (life)
(Read: Quran. Surah 32, ayah 11) from the bodies by Allah’s
permission.

Allah says: "And they say: "The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son
(or children)." Glory to Him! They [whom they call children of Allah i.e. the
angels, 'Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra)], are but honoured
slaves. They speak not until He has spoken, and they act on His Command. He
knows what is before them, and what is behind them, and they cannot
intercede except for him with whom He is pleased. And they stand in awe for
fear of Him." (Quran. Surah 21, ayah 26-28)

Description of Jinns

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

What are Jinn made from?

Allah says: “And the jinn He created from a smokeless flame of fire.”
(Quran. Surah 55, ayah 15)

Who are the Shaytan to you?
Allah says: “Surely, Shaytan is an enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy.
He only invites his followers that they become the dwellers of the blazing
Fire.”

Can we see the Jinn?
Allah says: “Indeed he (Iblis) and his tribe watch you from a position
where you cannot see them.” (Quran. Surah 7, ayah 27)

The Story of Shaytan (Iblis):
Allah says: “And surely, We created you (your father Adam) and then gave
you shape (of a human being); then We told the angels, "Prostrate yourselves
to Adam", and they prostrated themselves, except Iblis, he refused to be of
those who prostrated themselves. (Read: Quran. Surah 7, ayah 11-18)

Some Jinn are Muslim:
Allah says: “Say: It has been revealed to me that a group of jinn listened
(to this Quran). They said: Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recitation. It
guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join
(in worship) anything with our Lord.” (Quran. Surah 72, ayah 1-2)

It is important to recite the Quran daily, make plenty of Dua and seek refuge
with Allah from Shaytan.

Say:
“A’uthoo billaahi minn-ashaytaanir-rajeem.”
(I seek refuge in Allah from the shaytan the accursed)

Seeking Protection From Shaytan

Read aloud (Parent/Guardian or Teacher).

Some examples of seeking the protection of Allah :

Remembering Allah :
The Prophet said: "Whoever says 'There is no god but Allah, alone, without
any partner. The Kingdom and praise belong to Him and He has power over
everything' (La ilaha illa'llah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu'l mulku wa lahu'l
hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shay'in qadir) one hundred times a day, it is the same
for him as freeing ten slaves. One hundred good actions are written for him
and one hundred wrong actions are erased from him, and it is a protection
from Shaytan for that day until the night. No-one does anything more
excellent than what he does except someone who does more than that."

Reciting Quran:
The Prophet used to seek protection against the evil of jinn and the evil
eyes till Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas were revealed. After they were
revealed, he took to them for seeking Allah's protection and left everything
besides them. (At- Tirmidhi).

Guarding your Prayer:
The Prophet said: "He who offers the dawn (Fajr) prayers will come under
the Protection of Allah. O son of Adam! Beware, lest Allah should call you to
account in any respect from (for withdrawing) His Protection." (Muslim)
