The end result of this project gave each resi- dent and their families a memoir of their lives and all of their accomplishments. I was very humbled to have had the op- portunity to learn so much more about our residents. There will be many more opportunities to participate in this pro- ject in the future and I encourage all residents to take part. In February, we bid 2 fond farewell to one of our much loved employees, Mary Fromberger. Mary was the Care Manager here since October 2014 and has helped shape the “Better Together” model to what itis today. Mary will be sadly missed by staff and residents alike. Please join me in wishing Mary well in her retirement. However, as one door closes another opens and I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jade McGaw to Care Manager. Jade has been with Rathdowne Place from the set up stage and has been instrumental in ensuring admissions for our residents Clinical Care Report ee) In early February, our very own level four Senior Care Partner, Gregor Poole put forward a new medication ini- tiative. Gregor's initiative has been instrumental in the steep decline of medication errors. The medication initia tive sees medication rounds split up into five sections, with one Care Companion overseeing one section each. When Care Companion’s are completing their medica- tion rounds, all additional tasks and responsibilities are delegated to another staff member to avoid any interrup- tion throughout this time. Main medication rounds com- ‘mence at 8,00 and 20.00 hours respectively, with supple- mentary medication rounds occurring at 12.00, 14.00, 16.00 and 18.00 hours, This trial has been immensely suc- cessful, and we encourage all to forward their congratu- lations to Gregor for his continuing excellence here at Rathdowne Place. Even though our results are excellent we will continue to strive toensure our staff are engaged, recognised and rewarded for the care they provide our residents. There is a renovation update that I would also like to share with you that will affect all areas of Rathdowne Place. We are currently completing works in the ceiling cavity on each floor that will cause some minor disruption to our resi- dents. We are working closely with our builders to ensure this disruption is at a minimum and ensure the safety of all Rathdowne Place staff and residents. In other exciting news Rathdowne Place has hit 100% occupancy for the first time since we opened in May 2014.
