OpenDRIVE®Manager

The OpenDRIVE Manager (OdrManager) is a real-time

compliant library enabling the user to read OpenDRIVE OpenDRIVE OpenCRG
networks and to perform queries on them. In addition Database Database
to the road logics contained in the OpenDRIVE format,
the manager may also evaluate detailed information
about a road surface which may be available in
OpenCRG format. OpenDRIVE Contact Point

The library is usually used in connection with vehicle Contact Point User
dynamics and traffic simulation. For 3d-vehicle Application
dynamics, at least one contact point per wheel should (e.g. Vehicle

be computed.

In order to retrieve e.g. road elevation data, the
OdrManager provides routines that convert a given
inertial position (one for each contact point) into a lane
position and the corresponding foot point in 3d. This
enables the user to compute the road contact and,
thus, place his vehicle correctly in 3d space.

The OdrManger also gives full access to the OpenDRIVE

Contact Points
data that has been read from file and provides the user
with a means to parse and apply custom callbacks to
certain node types.

Real-Time performance of the OdrManager has been

proven in industry-standard vehicle dynamics programs
running at frequencies up to 1000Hz. This includes the
query of the macroscopic road surface (by OpenDRIVE)
and, in addition, the microscopic surface (by OpenCRG).

For the operation in intersections, the OdrManager

provides commands to retrieve lists of “probable” roads
a contact point may be using, thus giving the user full
control over the actual road’s surface that shall be
used.

With the OdrManager, the user may setup and follow

waypoint paths, so that vehicles may navigate
autonomously even over intersections.

Detailed lane information (e.g. with, roadmark) may be

retrieved as well as curvature information. Traffic signs,
traffic lights and associated controllers may be queried
by means of the OdrManager.

The OdrManager is available as binary library for Linux

and MS-Windows operating systems, both in 32- and
64-bit versions.
