B. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
1. Significance of the Study (Not more than 50 words)
Students exposed in cooperative learning tend to learn more and better compared to
individual learning. In cooperative learning a small group of students is responsible
for its own learning and the learning of all group members. Students interact with
each other in the same group to a achieve a goal.
2. Health Issues and/or Policies that will be addressed (Not more than 500 words)
Provide a rationale for your project, including any relevant information about the main topic
of the research and a brief background of the study.
The recent result of the reading assessment in grade 7 students of Simbalan National High
School showed that an alarming number of grade 7 students fall under the Frustration level.
The researcher wanted to address this problem through crafting an intervention program
anchored on Vygotsky’s Social Constructivism.
General
To develop an intervention program which addresses the alarming rate of the students’ reading
status.
Specific
1. To gather the data about the reading status of the Grade 7 – students.

2. Craft an intervention program anchored on social constructivism and use it on the
respondents.
3. Conduct an assessment in order to test if there is a significant change after the intervention
program is delivered.
4. Methodology
The study will utilize the data gathered using the Phil-IRI assessment tool. It will focus
on developing an intervention program for students fall under the Frustration Level.
After the intervention program is given, the respondents will be re-reassessed if there
is a significant change.
This shall validate the effectivity of the intervention program and of which can be used
as a tool in addressing the learners’ reading problems.
