The Anti-Bullying Program

I. Introduction

In this generation, bullying is very prevalent, widely present and ubiquitous

in the society. Bullying, in general, is now something not unusual and common
which is considered very saddening to know since it affects the victims in a very
negative way.

Bullying contributed nothing but negative effects to the bullied person,

whether it is an adult or a child. The effects of the action are something that must
not be overlooked, but the action of bullying is now viewed as something that is
a human tendency. Worse is that bullies usually think that the incompetence of a
person causes their action to bully to be something excusable and condonable
since they feel as if it is something that will make them feel superior to those that
they victimize.

Bullying despite its normality makes people vainer and worse. The false
thoughts of making them feel better, thinking it will only work when they
mentally or physically hurt someone else, is something alarming that one should
focus and set awareness to.

The issue of bullying comes in the form of physical, verbal, and the most
known form of bullying in the recent generation, electronic bullying or popularly
known as Cyberbullying. Bullied prospects have encountered getting called out
names that is considered offensive and “below-the-belt” as well as physical
injuries that are caused through beating. Cyberbullying which targets the mental
and emotional being of a bullied victim usually generate depression to children
whose mental capacity is yet underdeveloped.

Throughout the years, bullying prevention is a growing research field that has
made great strides in answering important questions. According to Bullying,
Physical Fighting, and Victimization, about 35% of the young people in the study
report being involved in bullying—9-54% for 11-year-olds, 17-71% for 13-year-
olds, 19-73% for 15-year-olds, most commonly on 13-year-olds and in boys than
girls. It is an on-going process that all countries have been emphasizing in every
school utility, to prevent the odds from growing furthermore and to stop an act
that can cause more damage than one can imagine if not prevented.

II. Statement of the Problem

The issue of negatives effects that affects a bullied person such as depression,
additional feeling of incompetence and insecurities, dramatic drop of self-esteem
and something that drives them to even consider suicide as an option are placed
upon their plates when subjected to bullying.
