RATIONALE
ABM_AOM11, Organization and Management will help the student understand the basic
foundations of management and business organization that mainly focuses on the functional areas
of management. Students are expected to understand the significance of these functional areas so
that they develop sense of responsibility and be highly productive citizens. Understanding the
different management functions are important for future managers and leaders of the country to
exemplify values of a total man in an organization.

SUBJECT DESCRIPTION

ABM_AOM113 Is designed to familiarize the students with the basic concepts, principles,
and process related to business organization, and the functional areas of management. Particular
emphasis will be given to the study of management functions like planning, organizing, leading and
orient the students on the importance of these functions and the role of each area in
entrepreneurship.

SUBJECT OBJECTIVES
Generally, ABM_AOM113 aims to:
1. Define basic business concepts, principles and values that contribute to organizational
performance.
2. Define the management functions and business processes that create value for an
organization.
3. Identify management policies, practices, and procedures that influence group and
individual dynamics in organizations.

3. Formulate appropriate planning techniques and tools to be used at a different level in
the organization.

3. Identify problems that is mostly encountered in a business organization that affects the
performance in the internal and external relations.

3. Create a SWOT and PEST analysis with the forces of elements of the firm’s
