Brief description of the equipments

1. Multiple Effect Evaporator:-
This configuration combines three parallel evaporators along
with preheaters in a feed forward manner. It uses the water
vapor from one effect as the heating medium for the next
effect. The idea behind using multiple evaporators is to
conserve the steam and increase the steam economy of the
evaporator by reusing the latent heat of the water vapor
henceforth efficiently using the heat from the steam.
2. Vapor Liquid Separator:-
A VLS is used to separate a vapor liquid mixture in the
effluent treatment.
3. AGITATED THIN FILM DRIER:-
An ATFD is used for evaporation of water/solvent to make
concentrated liquid to dry powder flakes. It is considered as
an ideal apparatus for continuous processing of concentrated
material to dry solids.
4. THERMO VAPOR RECOMPRESSOR
It is normally used on the first effect of a double or triple
effect evaporators to recompress the vapor energy
consumption. It reduces the steam required per pound of
evaporation. To reduce energy consumption, water vapor
from an evaporator is entrained and compressed with high
pressure steam in a thermo compressor so it can be condensed
in the evaporator heat exchanger. It is similar to a steam jet air
ejector used to maintain vacuum in an evaporator.

5. PREHEATER
A preheater is any device designed to heat the feed
before another process with primary objective of increasing
the thermal efficiency of the process.

6. CYCLONE SEPRATOR
A cyclonic separation is a method of removing
particulates from an air, gas or liquid stream, without the use
of filters. It uses the principles of inertia to remove the
particulate matter.
7. PUSHER
It is a type of filtration technique that offers continuous
operations to de-water and wash materials such as relatively
incompressible feed solids, free draining crystalline and
fibrous substances. It consist a constant speed rotor and is
fixed to one of the several baskets.
