Irani, F. and Noruzi, M. (2011). Globalization and Challenges; What are the
globalization’s contemporary issues?

1. The three (3) things that I significantly learned from the readings are…
 I have learned that the article only tackled an overview about
globalization. Despite of, it tackled the current state of globalization in the
present world, the streams and the common perspective or view of
globalization, and some of the cultures, traditions, and innovations such as
the emerging technologies that other people specially those who are in
bounded areas in the world cannot reach or being swept away to the
globalization effect which is considered as a contemporary issue.
 I have learned that globalization is not constant rather it is fluid. It is
necessary for the growth not only in personal but also in the economic state
of the country. Globalization is constant, even those who are in the
bounding areas will be in the flow of innovations as well as becoming aware
about the new information emerging all around the world.
 I have learned that the issue in globalization is that other people cannot
reach new information up until now, there is no specific solution about it. By
globalization, we integrate our different knowledge that may contribute to
the success and the nation’s development.

2. The three (3) things that are still unclear to me are…

 None. I understand the perspective of the two authors of the article. Also,
the authors had explained their different point of views about the
contemporary issues and concerns of globalization.

3. I used to think that…

 Globalization is just a single and a simple concept. I thought that
globalization is constant (fixed) and a never-ending process. I think
everyone of us will benefit from it. As a Filipino citizen, I think that
globalization is more on colonization (which why we react) because
Philippines have an issue with China (regarding the Scarborough Shoal)
which may serve as a barrier to the growth of the Philippines.

4. The three (3) questions that I want to ask about the readings are…
 In what way do globalization and media related to each other?
 Globalization is the liberation of the markets internationally which may
benefit all of us. What causes others to not support or oppose globalization?
 In present period, are there solutions and actions done by the experts
regarding on the unreachability issues particularly to people in bounded
areas?

Witkowska, J. (2016). Integration process in the global economy: Current state and
prospects: The cases of the European Union, ASEAN Economic Community, and NAFTA.

1. The three (3) things that I significantly learned from the readings are…
 I have learned about these regional integration groupings are very crucial
since these integratioms aim to implement beneficial effects between one
country to another like having trade blocks that eliminates or reduces trade
barriers. In addition, these integration strengthen the relationship of the
countries that are involved or part of the aforementioned groupings.
 I have learned that there are certain groups o union every continent which
takes charge, imposing laws regarding the process of integration wherein
they try to put in motion the integration process. In other words, all of the
unions such as the European Union, ASEAN Economic Community and the
NAFTA tries to develop the process, but despite of, they encounter more
problems and discrepancies throughout the study.
 I have learned that the European Union, ASEAN Economic Community,and
NAFTA have so much roles and responsibilities wherein they encounter
issues that are similar to each other and these are the ones that cannot be
solve easily.

2. The three (3) things that are still unclear to me are…

 None. I understand the whole article and the author explained about the
regional integration process in the global economy. I also understand what
does the article pertaining to regarding these organizations and their
political issues on how the integration process depends on the state of the
economy of the country’s economy.
3. I used to think that…
 The regional integration is not a major concern in globalization. I thought
that there are only representatives on every country regarding this market
integration process. I also think that an integrating country must be ready
in terms of the conditions in political and economic before entering the
integration process or economic integration.

4. The three (3) questions that I want to ask about the readings are…
 How do members of European Union, ASEAN Economic Community, and
NAFTA handle the uprising problem in relation to globalization?
 In what way do different countries connect to link with integration process?
 Does sustainability have a major role when it comes to global economy?
