Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
i. discuss wedding customs and rituals of various races in Malaysiai.
introduce themselves
ii. know the format of the SPM examination for English 1119
Success Criteria: I will be successful if I can:
i. list down the customs and rituals they observed and know
ii. complete a double bubble map on similarities and differences in the
wedding rituals and customs
iii. report information about the wedding using correct connectors to
compare and contrast i. introduce myself to my teacher and friends
Activities: 1. Teacher talks about her own wedding custom and rituals
2. Students read a text about the customs and rituals of a Malay
and Indian wedding
3. Students list down customs and rituals they know or observed
and share with shoulder partner
4. Complete a double-bubble map show similarities and differences
5. Students work in groups of four to report information on the
similarities and differences using correct connectors
6. Teacher asks a few students to name some of the rituals and customs of
a wedding they have learned
1. Teacher introduces herself and get students to do introduce
themselves.
2. Introduce of the Form 4 syllabus –themes and topics, form 4
literature components – two poems, two short stories and one drama.
3. Introduction of the Examination format to the students: Paper 1 &2.
4. Ss. are introduced on the ‘School Based Oral Assessment Test’.

2. Read notes on how to summarise a passage. (pages 89 – 91)
3. Students work in groups of four to write a summary of 3 passages.
4. A group leader writes their summary on the board.
5. Teacher and other groups comment on the summary.
6. Teacher concludes the lesson.
