GUIDE TO MAKE THE PROJECT TECHNICAL REPORT

FRONT PAGE AND INDEX

The cover should include at least the name of the members, the class and the project title.

You should include an index. The index is a list of the contents with the number of the page.

1. SPECIFICATIONS OF THE PROBLEM. REQUERIMENTS

Define the problem: the situation that needs to be solved is clearly defined.

In this case, the general specs are: Manufacture a wooden object, including and electrical circuit,
with the following components: battery, switch and control element.

2. SEARCH FOR INFORMATION

Obtain, analyze and select all the information that may be useful to design your project.

It may be helpful to answer questions like: what do I have to do? What is the main function of the
object? Which are the appropriate materials? What technological characteristics should it have?

The search for information can be carried out analyzing similar objects, searching the web, books
or magazines, or even asking people.

Write down where have you obtained the information from.

3. SKECTCHES OF THE DESIGNS

After selecting the idea, each group member must provide one design. A drawing and a
description must be included. Written instructions accompanying drawings to clarify and
understand better besides describing

4. SHARING AND FINAL SOLUTION

The group has to decide which is the best solution. A decision matrix can be used to help you with
the decision.

5. GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION

You have to make a general assembly drawing in which the general proportions are can be
appreciated. (take a look at the following example).

SKETCH: You can draw a 3D drawing or you can draw the main views: front, side and top view.

8
PARTS: You have to include a list of all the parts. The parts must be correctly drawn (with ruler or
by using cad software). They must be correctly scaled including all the dimensions.

7. MANUFACTURING PROCESS PLANNING

We have to explain all the activities performed in our project. In order to get that, we will use a
process sheet like the one you can see here:

CLASS: GROUP: DATE:

PROJECT: SHEET NUMBER:

PIECE (number, MATERIAL AND OPERATIONS AND

name) TOOLS RESPONSIBLE:

Saw, Plywood 10x20 Cut.

In addition, we will use a Gantt diagram to organize all the work we have to do at the workshop ,
planning each session with the activity performed, the person who has to do it and the number of
sessions we will spend.

8.EVALUATION

You have to evaluate the work: positive and negative aspects, things that could be improved, etc.

You have to evaluate your own work giving a mark to each member of the team.
