B. Course Description
This course contains information, concepts and /or theories on Applied Linguistics as a field of
modern linguistics. It provides the students with opportunities and forum of discussion on the
interrelationship between linguistic theories and their application in language teaching, mainly on
the teaching-learning processes of English as a second and /or a foreign language. It leads the
students to have impression and improvisation in order to make use of linguistics theories to
support the success of the teaching of English.

C. Objectives
At the end of the course, the students:
1. comprehend the linguistic theories and their applicative uses for language teaching and other
practical application,
2. are able to create and develop their valuable teaching-learning strategies as well, and
3. are able to write scientific papers on Applied Linguistics.

D. Evaluation
