CHRISTMAS LIGHTS QUOTES AND SAYINGS

Christmas celebrations include spending time with the family, decorating the
entire house, inside and out and shopping, for friends and relatives. Spending
Christmas with the family is very important. On this day, all family members
spend time in baking cookies, making fudge and preparing a big Christmas dinner,
with all the trimmings. The children love to see each other and spend the day
playing games and sharing their new gifts and toys that Santa Claus brought for
each of them.
Christmas lights (also known as fairy lights) are lights used for decoration in
celebration of Christmas, often on display throughout the Christmas season
including Advent and Christmastide. Throughout Christendom, Christmas lights
continue to retain their symbolism of Jesus as the light of the world.

Christmas is the season of light.

Christmas lights instantly make me feel eight years old again.

What is Christmas but the metaphoric light by which we live our lives?

May all your troubles soon be gone. Oh, Christmas lights keep shining on.

Everlasting your light will “SHINE” when all else “FADES”. Merry Christmas.

In most homes when Christmas is celebrated, people set up a Christmas tree in

the house. These are traditionally evergreens, the best type being the Fir Tree
which does not shed its needles or lose its fragrance. The Christmas tree is
decorated with lights, shiny colored balls, sparkly tinsel and other ornaments. A
wreath of leaves or pine is often put on the front door of a house as a sign of
welcome. Other plants that have special significance at Christmas are holly which
is used as decoration and mistletoe which is hung in the center of a room. The
tradition is that people who meet under the mistletoe must kiss.

Many people decorate their homes at Christmas time. These decorations and the
Christmas tree are generally inside, but may be put where they can also be seen
through a window by people passing by. In the mid 20th century there grew up a
custom for decorating the outside of houses as well. These decorations may be
just a few lights around the porch, or hundreds of lights and colorful Christmas
figures decorating the whole house and garden. Some neighborhoods hold
competitions for the best-decorated house, and driving around the streets to look
at them has become another family tradition. The following are a few of the best
quotes regarding Christmas lights.

"Christmas is not in tinsel and lights and outward show. The secret lies in an inner glow. It's
lighting a fire inside the heart. Good will and joy a vital part. It's higher thought and a
greater plan. It's glorious dream in the soul of man." ~ Wilfred Peterson

who need it most." ~ Ruth Carter Stapleton

"The Christmas tree, twinkling with lights, had a mountain of gifts piled up beneath it, like

"Christmas lights may be the loneliest thing for me, especially if you mix them up with
reindeers and sleighs. I feel alone. I feel isolated. I feel I do not belong." ~ Mira Nair

"We Greeks are a moody people. Suicide makes sense to us. Putting up Christmas lights
after your own daughter does it--that makes no sense. What my yia yia could never
understand about America was why everyone pretended to be happy all the time.” -Mrs.
Karafilis" ~ Jeffrey Eugenides

"Stars of heaven, clear and bright, Shine upon this Christmas light, Vaster far than midnight
skies Are its timeless mysteries." ~ Timothy Dudley-Smith

"Brits and Americans have hundreds of different phrases for the same thing. Luckily, it's
usually a source of amusement rather than frustration. A flashlight by any other name is still
a torch. My personal favourite is 'fairy lights,' which we boringly refer to as 'Christmas
lights.'" ~ Sloane Crosley
Christian people start lots of preparations on this occasion at least a month ago.
At this day, houses, offices, churches, etc. are cleaned; white washed and
decorated well using paper flowers, natural flowers, sceneries, pictures, looking
glasses, wall buntings, etc. Market also gets decorated to look attractive and we
can see the market full of Christmas cards, gift items, sceneries, toys, etc. People
enjoy decorating their houses with the Christmas tree in the centre of house.
They load the Christmas tree with lots of gift items like chocolates, candies,
balloons, dolls, birds, flowers, lights, etc. to make it bright and beautiful.
Christmas lights cover the trees to enhance the beauty and the lavishness.
Overall this festival is about cheering up with family members and enjoying every
bit of it.

There are so many uses of short Christmas poems. Aside from the Christmas card
wording, they can also be used as verses in Christmas tags when you’re sending
greetings along with your gift to your loved ones. Here is a good short poem
about Christmas lights that you may enjoy.
Christmas Lights
By Marie Irish
Bright Christmas stars shine on high,
Golden stars in the wintry sky;
Christmas candles in windows bright
Send s greeting into the night;
While in our hearts the Christmas flame,
Glows with a love like his who came,
The infant Christ of lowly birth,
To bring good will and peace to earth.
