You have been asked to design a new ‘Green Machine’, an

environmentally friendly machine, that will support an


occupation (this may be an occupation that exists now or
will in the future). You must describe your machine and
present all of the information we will need to produce it.

Your machine may be a vehicle or other form of machine,


but it must use power or fuel. (Be creative!)

You must hand in:


• A labelled diagram of your machine
(hand drawn or done with technology)

• Answers to these questions:


o What is the purpose of your machine?
(What does it do? Why is it useful?)
o How is your machine environmentally friendly?
o What occupation(s) does your machine benefit?
(Who will use it?)
o What is your machines energy source and how does it use it?

• At least 2 ‘backtracks’ for resources used to build your machine to show where
they come from
(hand drawn or done with technology)

• A description of
o Whether the resources used to build your machine are renewable or non-
renewable
o The benefits and limitations of your machine
o The machine (or people) that currently do the job of your green machine
o The implications of using non-renewable resources

• A conclusion
