BANKAL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL- To continuously uphold the importance of campus journalism and
sustain its advocacies throughout the years, Bankal National High School held a school level Press
Conference last July 30, 2019.
Students from junior and senior high school participated the event. While, the Filipino and English major
teachers leaded and initiated the said event.
Students competed individually or as a group in different categories: News Writing, Feature Writing,
Sports Writing, Editorial Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Copyreading and Headlining, Photojournalism,
and Broadcasting in both Filipino and English.
This competition is a pre-requisite one to the participants before they could qualify to the District or
Division School Press Conference (DSPC).
Beforehand, student participants undergone lectures and orientations in order to be aware of what to do
in the actual competition. The school opened facilities in every category to cater all the participants who
joined.
In the actual competition, students were given topics about a particular issue and an allotted time of an
hour and 30 minutes in crafting their pieces.
After a month, August 30, 2019, along with the celebration of Buwan ng Wika culmination, all the
winners from junior to senior high school participants was being announced and were given certificates
to certify that they got their spots in the category they joined.
