What is LinkedIn Learning?
We are very excited to announce that athenaUniversity will now provide a new
benefit to all athenistas, LinkedIn Learning. LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com)
is an online platform that provides thousands of courses on business, tech and
creative skills.

We’ve received some great feedback from across athena. What we’ve learned is that
athenistas want to learn, but they have a lot of different interests. LinkedIn Learning
help us to better support every athenista in their quest to learn what is personally
relevant to them.

We’ve also learned that athenistas are interested in learning key business and
technology skills and earning industry standard certifications. Access to LinkedIn
Learning will provide users with certification preparation learning materials and
courses. From Project Management to AWS, there are certification preparation and
continuing education courses in many key skill areas. For a full list of what is currently
available, please visit this page.

To learn more about LinkedIn Learning and this program, please review this
document. If you have any questions, please reach email
athenaUniversityRequests@athenahealth.com or ask a question on athenalearns on
Microsoft Teams.

We look forward to hearing your feedback and partnering with you in your learning
and development!

How can you use LinkedIn Learning? How does it fit into
your learning at athena?
LinkedIn Learning is a great addition to all of the resources we already have in the
athenaU Learning Portal! It is not replacing any of our current offerings, but rather
supplementing our learning opportunities by adding resources in new areas.

You will be able to freely use the platform to explore areas that are of interest to you
to help you target your own learning and development. Once you’ve activated your
account, simply go to LinkedInLearning.com to access content!

While many people may be interested in freely exploring the platform, we also
provide more guidance in specific areas. We currently have curated collections of
resources for all of the Success Profiles Competencies. These collections are
accessible from the Success Profile pages in the athenaUniversity Learning Portal.
We also have curated resources focused on enterprise-wide software such as
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Finally, we will also have
curated collections based upon the top skills athenistas have requested. These will
include areas like Project Management, SQL, Tableau and Time Management.

You can also use LinkedIn Learning to prepare for certifications. There are a number
of certification preparation courses available on the platform that you can view here.

How do I access LinkedIn Learning?
Once you set up your LinkedIn Learning account using this activation link, you are
free to explore and access all of the available content. When you are activating your
account, you will be asked if you want to link your account with your LinkedIn profile.
While this step is optional, we recommend that you do so.

Linking your account with your LinkedIn profile will give you the following
advantages:
» Linking your account will enable LinkedIn Learning to provide personalized
recommendations based on your job title and listed skills in LinkedIn.
» This will allow you to access your LinkedIn Learning account from outside the
athena network/VPN. This means you can easily use the LinkedIn Learning
Mobile app, or even access content on your personal computer using your
LinkedIn username and password. Please note that this functionality may take
up to a week to activate.
» Linking your account gives you the option of highlighting the skills you learn
and badges you earn on your public LinkedIn profile. This is a great way to
show what you’re learning and the skills you’re earning to your broader
network!

You can also access LinkedIn Learning from the Top Destinations list on
TheCommons and through links on the athenaU Learning Portal!

After you activate your account, you can simply go to LinkedInLearning.com and
continue learning! We highly recommend that you bookmark the page.

How do I find content?
Once you’ve set up your LinkedIn Learning account using this activation link, you
can search or view recommendations to find the learning content that is relevant to
you!

We highly recommend viewing the course, “How to Use LinkedIn Learning” if you
want help getting started.

You can also access curated content on the athenaU Learning Portal. On the
athenaU Learning Portal, you’ll find curated content for all of the Success Profile
Competencies as well as content based on top skills and enterprise applications.

If you’re interested in viewing this curated content, click the relevant links below:
» Success Profiles: Behavioral Competencies

How do I use LinkedIn Learning to support my team’s
learning and development?
LinkedIn Learning is a great tool you can use to support your team’s learning and
development. With content on thousands of topics, there is bound to be something
that is relevant for everyone!

When working with your direct reports on their plans for learning and development
you can either direct them to the great resources that are already curated in the
athenaU Learning Portal, or you can recommend content directly based on their
individual learning and development needs.

If your direct reports have already activated their accounts, simply send them the
URL of the course you want to share!

Please note that they must have active accounts for this to work. If they have any
issues, make sure they are logging in with this activation link first, and then have
them try again.
