clarifications or details were shown in a question-and-answer format. The questions and guidelines in
making my SWOT Analysis were taken from CoachMBA™ Strategies (www.coachmba.com) retrieved
on May 4, 2010.

CoachMBA™ Strategies.

Strengths
o What are your advantages?
 When I am given a responsibility – which means I am very much obliged to
do it – I do it with all my best and knowledge.
 If ever I am faced with difficulties, I find ways to solve them. I am always
willing to do things that I am capable of and are necessary.
o What do you do well?
 I get better results from researching or accomplishing reviews of
literatures. I am very diligent when it comes to searching both in the
internet and in the library (books or other publications).

o What can you do better than anyone else?
 I think I can do time management better than the people (of my level) I
know. This I have always heard from the creative self criticisms I am
involved in that I can manage my academic activities, organizational
activities, friends and significant others, and self-pleasing activity: Japanese
Fandom very well that I do not forget one even if I am very busy with the
other.
 Also, I was told that I know how to prioritize.
o What is natural for you?
 It is natural for me to be very interested when it comes to anything
Japanese.
 It is also natural for me to appreciate things that I cannot do and try them
myself when I am allowed and when it is necessary.
o What comes easy for you?
 It is easy for me to give my insights and comments towards things that I can
relate to or things that I am familiar of.
o What are your preferences?
 I prefer to listen to music when I think about things or write reports.
 When it comes to meetings, I prefer to listen first and think hard about the
things I have heard and about my comments before I say them. I do not talk
a lot because I prefer to stay quiet but this depends upon situations.
 I also prefer orientations of/about things assigned to me especially when
they are new to me, however, I also like discovering things on my own. If it
means risking expensive and important things (gadgets, equipments, tools),
then I prefer to take an orientation first.
 I prefer to get the supporting role than the lead role. For example, I rather
want to be the vice-president than to be the president because I have
observed that I function better that way.

Weaknesses
o What could be improved?
 I want my way of thinking to be improved. I have just discovered from the
Flanagan Industrial Test that I think too deep that I end up answering the
wrong ones.
o What is done badly?
 I often get bad results when I play any ball games or any kind of sport. I
may lack the physical abilities.
o What should be avoided?
 My tendency to daydream when I do nothing or do boring things should be
avoided.
o What’s not easy for you?
 It is not easy for me to understand or comprehend right away especially
when I encounter grammatical errors and complications. I read heavy texts
slowly so that I can understand every sentence and it takes me a long time
to finish them. This may also be due to my short attention span.
 Moreover, it is not easy for me to be very responsible even though I am very
determined to be one and to solve problems in any way possible because my
means may be limited in ways that I only know (or those which are familiar
to me)

 When I take the lead role, I cannot sometimes think well because I am too
pressured. I think this is something that I should also change.

o What don’t you like to do?

 I do not like to do things which can bore me except when I am obliged to
do it. I also do not like to do things when I am sleepy because it only leads
to bad result/s.

Opportunities
I feel like I can utilize and develop my skills even more when I attend seminars and
conferences – seminars that are useful to me and those which interests me also.
o Where is leverage to be found?
 I am comfortable doing documentation skills hence I might work well in
documentation or public relation groups.
o What are the interesting trends?
 There is this increasing number of teachers in UPLB who go to Japan to
study. This gives me an idea on how to possibly go to Japan and to be aware
of this encourages me to pursue my dreams.

Threats
o What obstacles do you face?
 The differences in the industry and in school are the things that scare me.
Through this OJT, I have learned several things that I have not realized
while I was studying and now, I am expecting to encounter more of these
pleasant and unpleasant things. I am worried of how I am going to handle
things.
o What is your competition doing?
 They do their best, too, to learn everyday. This implies that they also learn
the things that I learn such that we can have the same amount of
knowledge. The difference might be our comprehension and our capability
to sustain the knowledge in our mind.
 Fast-paced learning is also something that might threaten me when it
comes to studying.
o Is changing technology threatening your position?
 Somehow, yes. The changing technology requires users to be updated. Since
there is always a first time and I am willing to learn, I think I can cope up
with this change even though it will take me quite some time. My
determination to learn and my thirst for discoveries might help me with
this.
o What do you find yourself constantly up against?
 I am against things that oppose my beliefs and the things that I have
learned throughout the years. This makes me question them and somehow
doubt them.
 I am also against intruders and people who take advantage of the kindness
and fortune of others without giving credit to make things seem better for
both parties.
