AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
INTRODUCTION
1. General
A. This Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) provides line maintenance information for the
Rockwell Collins Programmable Audio and Video Entertainment System 2 (PAVES™ 2),
system list number 441-1521-001 through -005.
-004.
B. Line maintenance preventive and corrective procedures are based primarily on performing
the routines described in this manual, fault isolating problems, and replacing Line
Replaceable Units (LRUs).
(2) CAUTION notices precede information on methods and procedures that must be
followed to avoid damage to equipment.

2. Aircraft Effectivity
The following table identifies the Aircraft (A/C) Type, Manufacturer Serial Numbers (MSN),
Aircraft Registration (REG) Numbers, Effectivity (EFF) Code, Seating Configuration, and the
System List Numbers covered in this manual. Throughout this manual, aircraft effectivity appears
in the lower left hand corner of each page when the effectivity applies to the whole page. Aircraft
effectivity is used within the text or illustrations in this manual to identify a portion of a page that
is applicable to specific aircraft. Either ALL or the applicable Effectivity Code from the following
table can be used throughout this manual to identify the aircraft effectivity. ALL indicates that all
aircraft in the following table are affected.

3. Revision Service
A. Revision service keeps manuals current. The two types of revision service used to keep
manuals current are Normal and Temporary, as described below.
(a) A revision bar in the left margin indicates a technical change made to a page in a
manual. For books containing parts listings, a capital R is entered in the left
margin adjacent to the changed area.
(b) A bar in the lower left margin opposite the page number indicates those pages
that have not been revised technically, but reprinted due to repagination. The
date revised displays in the lower right corner of a page that has been changed.
(c) The List of effective pages (LEP) is the authority for manual content, and
updates to the LEP that occur with every revision reflect the date of the change
for each affected page.
(b) A temporary revision page applies to a specific page only and is keyed within the
manual for insertion adjacent to the affected page. Temporary revisions are not
revised. A temporary revision may be superseded by another temporary
revision.
4. Advisories
Refer to the Rockwell Collins Avionics Standard Shop Practices Instruction Book (523-0768039)
for all general warnings, cautions, and advisories. Specific warnings, cautions, and advisories
are provided, as required, throughout this manual.

check or as-needed basis.
A. Remove the retractable LCD monitor from the aircraft installation rails, or swing down the

sensor wheel to remove any accumulation of debris, condensation, or other deposits that
interfere with the reflectivity of the slot.
NOTE: If the monitor is experiencing deployment or stowage issues (will not stay deployed
or stowed, or cycles), or has scratches, nicks, paint peelings, or shiny spots on the
black anodized area of the wheel, or a dull reflective slot was noticed during the
visual check, the retractable LCD must be replaced.
F. Install the retractable LCD monitor in the aircraft. Refer to Section 400,
