CHAPTER III

Result and Discussion

This chapter will talk about the Senior High School students of Unida Christian Colleges on
how their perceptions and values changed by studying in a Christian school. The main objective
of this study was to know how and why their perceptions modulate.

These are the following questions that the researcher’s made:

1. What is your religion?

This chart shows that 80% of the Senior High School students’s religion are
Catholic, 15% of them are Christian and 5% has other religions.
2. Are you studying in a Christian school?

3. Do you think that studying in a Christian school gives you more knowledge about
God?

This chart shows that 95% of the students agreed that studying in a Christian school
gives them more knowledge about God and 5% of them said No.
4. Does Christian values has a great effect in you?

This chart shows that 98% of the students agreed that Christian values has a great
effect in them and 2% of them said No.

5. The question which is "How do you behave whenever you attend in a Christian
churches?", respondent's answers are all the same. They act 'Normal' in a way that
they listen carefully to what the preacher is saying, solemnly worship, and gives respect
to other people same for those who are not Christians.

6. The question which is “Do you think that Christian values has a good impact to a
person? Why?” There are different answers by the respondents in this question, some
said that Christian values is very good, some said Yes because it gives them wisdom,
but the common answers are; Christian values has a good impact to the person because
it brings them closer to God and overwhelmed by God's words.

7. The question which is “What are your thoughts about a Christian school?” The most
common answers in this question is that Christian school is way more respectful, good
 teaching method, nice and good teachers. But some respondents said that it is just like
in ordinary school, they only added Christian stuff.
8. “Do you agree that studying in a Christian school can make you a better person?”
In this question, it became crucial. Some respondents say Yes because Christian school
really teach good values especially the teachers and they have become friendly and
have a good socializing skills. But the most common answer is No. They disagree
because being a better person depends on the choices of a person chooses. Even if you
are outside a Christian School, you can be a better person.

9. “What do you think is the reason why a student is studying in a Christian

school?” The reason why students study in Christian school is (based on the
respondents) : (1) The tuition is free, (2) To know more about God and His words, and
(3) Because their religion fits in the School.

10. The last question is, “How does a Christian school can affect your perceptions as a
student?” Sadly, the researchers did not gain much data because the respondents
(some of them) did not answer this question. But most commonly, their answers are No,
it did not affect their perceptions by studying in a Christian School.
