Your Arrival In-Country
Internal travel within Guyana is organised by our in-country partners - Iwokrama Research
Centre. When you arrive at Cheddi Jagan International Airport (Georgetown), make your way to
the International Arrivals Hall. An Iwokrama representative will be waiting for you with an
Operation Wallacea sign board with the Opwall logo.
There are no money exchanges/ATMs, at the airport. We recommend that you bring some US
dollars cash with you (they are widely accepted in Guyana) then use an ATM in Georgetown to
get some Guyana dollars before heading to the project site.
If you are unable to locate the representative, please wait in the arrivals hall. The representative
has your details and will be looking out for you. If after 1 hour, you cannot locate the
representative, please call the contact number below or the Opwall 24-hour number.

Please do not leave the airport until you have located the representative.
