JOB DESCRIPTION

DESIGNATION : Sr. Executive (R&D)


REPORTING TO : Head – Operations

1. To help Seniors design sets of experiments for development of processes for


drugs and drug intermediates with minimum numbers of experiments.

2. To carry out experiments with meticulous care so that results obtained are
reliable.

3. To analyze the results to draw rational conclusions and report the same to Sr.
Manager / Manager for any mid course correction.

4. To identify the related substances formed at each sage and suggest measures
to control them so that related substances in the final product meet the limits
suggested in ICH guidelines.

5. To identify the critical parameters in the finally developed process, develop


practical methods for reaction monitoring, carry out challenging experiments
to see the effect of inadvertent changes in he reaction conditions, work out
details for reprocessing of out of specification batches for intermediates as
well as final products, to fix specifications for reuse of solvents and catalysts
to ensure that technologies developed are robust.

6. To validate lab scale processes by demonstrating three lab batches ( two with
fresh solvents and catalysts ) and one with recovered solvents and catalysts.

7. To be a part of the team constituted for scale up of the process at pilot plant
and plan level and ensure smooth scale up.

8. To train chemist / trainees and help them o learn experimental techniques


needed for Organic Synthesis and Process Development.

9. To keep documentation of all experiments up to date along with all analytical


results as per the format developed at URL, R&D Department

10. To complete documentation as required by URL, technology transfer


documents.

11. To undergo minimum 52 hours of training per year on various aspects of


management , competency and skill development areas as per training need
analysis.

12. To ensure strict adherence towards Technology Security Systems developed


to control leakage of confidential information

13. As an Executive (R&D), carry out such jobs and other connected or incidental
jobs, which are necessary due to exigencies of companies work and business
requirements. Also to carry out such jobs those are within capabilities and /
or work in any other post that may be temporarily assigned.
