NARRATIVE REPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEAN-UP

The International Coastal Clean-Up 2019 was conducted last September 21, 2019
with a theme of “Making a Differencefor a Clean, Healthy Ocean”. This coastal clean up
was attended by people from different municipality. I am one of the volunteer assigned
at Palihan, Orani, Bataan. Me and my co-Peninsulares who were also assigned to clean
the coast of Brgy. Palihan gathered in Orani Plaza at 6:00 in the morning. Our
instructors were Ma’am Duran and Sir Billy Marcelo who guide and monitor us during
the coastal clean up. We cleaned the coast of what they called “Konsignasyon”.
Because many people worked together in order to maintain the cleanliness, we finished
early and we tend to achieve our goal to clean the coast.

As one of the volunteer, I noticed that the coast of our assigned areawere full of
trashes or garbage. We observed that they make the coast like a dumpster. We
havecollected a lot of plastics such as plastic cups/bottles, candy wrappers, plastic bags
and many more.

I realize that we should be aware on what is happening in our surrounding. That

we should have the discipline needed by our environment. Caring on the environment
should not just be a one day care. We should keep in mind that we need to clean our
surroundings voluntarily not just in a day in order to help the environment. Let’s
remember that we should be responsible enough in maintaining the cleanliness, not just
the coast, but the environment. We need to have a unity to make a difference and to
make a healthy and environmental friendly country.
