A note on Sportsmanship & Behavior:
In games the size and complexity of ours there are bound to be occasions where a situation is not
covered by the rules or you can’t seem to find the right page. Even if you know the rule, sometimes
it just a really close call and players don’t agree on the precise outcome. Nobody wants to waste
valuable gaming time on arguing, so be prepared to interpret a rule or come up with a suitable
solution for yourselves (in a gentlemanly fashion of course). It is important to remember that the
rules are just a framework for an enjoyable game and winning is less important than making sure
both players have a good time. If this is not possible there will be judges to help interpret the rules
to the best of our ability. To avoid disappointment, send us your questions ahead of time!
There will be a zero tolerance policy for unsportsmanlike behavior (throwing dice, excessive
cursing, yelling or rudeness to your opponent). Any behavior deemed inappropriate (judged by the
organizers) may be met with a warning or even a disqualification. You will not be given a refund if
you are asked to leave for poor behavior.
We are all just trying to have fun with our toy soldiers, let’s all try and remember that!

Painting Scores (Hobby Score):
At our events, we take the hobby very serious. Your army will be judged by our paint judge(s) using
the following rubric.

Brushwork- /10
Basing- /3
Display and Theme- /3
Discretion- /4

Brushwork:
4-5: One color of paint on each part of the model (Basecoated) is either applied poorly (4) or
consistently (5)
6-7: Shades have been applied (6), some drybushing or basic highlighting is done (7)
8: Clean layering, shading and or clean drybrushing has been done
9: Clean highlighting, army has a good use of colors, highlighting is done in at least 3-4 stages, some
blending or advanced techniques
10: Army is made up of advanced techniques, blending, smooth layering or glazing. Contrast is
striking in the colors. Has a wow factor.

Basing:
1- One painted or glued element on the base (sand, flock, texture etc)
2- Base has several elements, is interesting to look at and adds to the models (tufts, rocks, water,
etc)
3- Bases are scenic, have several elements, or are customized in some way. They are striking and
add to the model and overall feel of the army.

Display/Theme:
1- You brought a very simple display board (monotone)
2- A display that adds to the overall look of the army, having multiple elements or colors
3- Display tells a story with its multiple elements (scenery, landscape, color), and draws the eye to
the display. Has a wow factor.

Discretion:
We like to leave this category fairly open, to award people for doing exceptional things!
Things that could get you points here:
Conversions, sculpting work, kit-bashing, freehand painting, naming units, a story accompanying
the display, having a cohesive thematic army, etc.

Army Construction & FAQ

We will be using the 2019 ITC Tournament Guidelines. Terrain will be clearly defined at the start of
the event if it is otherwise unclear, but we will be following the ITC guidelines as closely as
possible.

Missions

Missions will be selected from the ITC Champions Missions for 2019. You will receive a package
containing all of the mission information and scoring sheets on the day of the event during
registration.

Best Coast Pairings

We will be using BCP player app for determining match ups, scoring the tournament and keeping
track of the rounds. We recommend registering the week before the event when it will be live in
the app. This is not mandatory, but does make the player experience much easier and smoother.

Awards/Prizes

Your Painting score will be weighted worth up to the points of one game. A perfect paint score
would therefore be worth the maximum Tournament points of one round.
We will have awards for the following placements:

Best Overall
2nd Overall
3rd Overall
Outstanding Hobby Achievement
Outstanding Sportsmanship

Product Prizes will be raffled off using a merit based raffle system. For each draw or victory, you
will receive 1 ticket in the raffle. If you make the top 8 cut for painting you will receive 1 raffle ticket.
If you are nominated as a best sport you will receive 1 raffle ticket.
You will only be eligible to receive one raffle prize.
