INSTRUCTIONS TO THE STUDENTS

1. Download the course registration Form from the website of R.P. Unit Engg. College
(cteng.amu.ac.in). Carefully study the relevant rules listed below, before filling up the Form.

2. Fill up the regular compulsory courses in section A listed in the curriculum (Course
Structure) of your branch of study for the semester for which you want to register. Course
Structure may be downloaded from the website ctengg.amu.ac.in

3. Fill up the courses of your choice in Section B from the list of Departmental Elective (DE)
courses offered by your Department. See Notice Board of your Department or contact your
course advisor. Refer your curriculum to find whether you have to study a DE course in the
forth-coming semester.

4. Fill up the courses in which you have a backlog in Section C. You may also register for
courses in which want to improve your grades, provided you have cleared the course in a
single attempt in any of your previous semesters. For improvement or Backlog the
registration mode can be either “b” or “c” as defined in point (a) mentioned below.

5. If you have to study an open-elective (OE) course in the next semester as per your curriculum,
fill up your choices in Section D. Please give choices for all courses marking 1 for most
preferable and 2 for the second preference and so on (Don’t leave any blank). If you have
already cleared a course earlier give this course the last choice.

6. For any advice consult your course advisor/coordinator as notified by your department.

7. Submit the filled up Form in your Department on or before 5.5.2019.

IMPORTANT RULES

(a) A student will have to choose any of the following modes of registration:

a Fulfil class attendance requirement and appear in all components of evaluation.
b Appear in all components of evaluation.
c Appear in end semester exam only. Previous sessional marks will be considered.

Registration in modes ‘b’ and ‘c’ will be permissible only if the student had registered in mode ‘a’ and fulfilled
attendance requirement in earlier semester. Registration in mode ‘c’ is permissible for the students of 2017
and 2018 batches only.
(b) A student will normally register for higher semester courses only if he has also registered for un- cleared
courses of previous semesters, especially in the case of un-cleared courses of first two semesters.
(c) A student will have the option to add/delete/alter the courses in his/her registration within a week of
the registration subject to such conditions as may be imposed by the department concerned from time to
time.
(d) A student can drop a course from his/her registration by submitting a request to his/her department
coordinator up to a date specified on his/her registration card. A registered course will be counted as an
attempt even if the student remains absent in the Examination(s).
(e) No B.Tech./B.E student will be allowed to register for more than 40 credits in a semester. For B.Arch.
students this limit is 45 Credits.
(f) A student may be denied registration in a course due to reasons of paucity of staff or space or other
facilities, especially in case the student is registering a course for improving the grade in a passed
course.
