- Family was just her and her mom
- Mom worked 4 jobs and was a single mother

- Even though they were in need of diner they were able to give what they could,
car and time
- Wanting to do good with what you have
- Attended Wheaton College- went through college with Field Hockey
- Planned to move west but life brought her to the cape
- Attened Harwich High school
- Did what she could to stay afloat
- You never know who your going to meat along your journey
- Opportunities present themselves
- Accept opportunities while young
- She moved to boston working for a commercial real estate company
- Tapped into the desire to do good, conducting clothing drives, volunteer events, and
started the nonprofit.

- No idea what she was doing but she made friends with people who fif

- Business needed energy, passion and that want to do good, the desire, but then the
business needed to expand
- She had the self awareness that a business needed more than she could give it and that
showed her leadership

- Stories of people, foreclosure and sad stories, amazing stories, transforming
lives of people, and housing
- Difficult for stable people to get houses too, mental or physical reasons
- Health, addiction, disease, plays a role in housing
- Went to cape cod healthcare and worked to address this issue
- Opiate addiction had a big effect on housing
- Gosnold is a treatment center that put people in the emergency room and they
brought in addiction survivors, and people that have turned their lives around to
talk to the addicted people

- Women's empowerment cape area networking
- 4 C’s - adult women students dropping out and the women were full time moms,
and as soon as a big change in their lives occurred, their education was the first
thing to go
 - Women in transition: job search, law, resources
- Funding through state went away so they took the program to the
community
- 2,800 women and 14,000 phone calls
- Free lawyers, job seach, probono lawyers, budget help, planning,
mentoring, workshops, immigration, debt, family law, custody
- She was the right leader for the job and became executive director
- Inclusive approch to leaderhsip
- Be authentic, it is always safe, you can never go wrong if you are authentic and
real
