C. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project will develop possible routes that would lead to Manila Doctors Hospital and
will seek to produce a shorter route from Mapua University. The researchers focus on how
it can essentially help to create lesser distance to have a lesser time to travel these routes—
especially for emergency purposes. There are graphs that were made by the researchers to
support this project and to put the said routes to comparison with each other.
D. MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS
To apply the aims of this project proposal, the researchers will employ the Graph
Theory. The Graph Theory allows the researchers to visualize the map and the places which
enable the researchers to allocate the shorter route from Mapua University to Manila
Doctors Hospital. The Hamiltonian path is also applied to the said graph where each place
can be visited once and end on the desired place.
E. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
F. PROCEDURE/EXECUTION

The researchers have utilized the graph theory to search for the shorter route from
Mapua University up to Manila Doctors Hospital. In graph theory, the researchers represent
places in between Mapua University and Manila Doctors Hospital in a map, as dots or what
are called vertices. The roads leading to said places can be represented as lines which are
called edges. In order to know all the available routes and which one is the best route, it is
necessary to graph the map of the places around Mapua University all the way Manila
Doctors Hospital and all the routes that lead to them. The Hamiltonian path is applied
where each vertex can be visited once and end on the desired vertex.,

To now know the fastest route or the most efficient route to go through, it is needed to
assign weights to the edges in the graph. The weights can represent different things but for
this purpose it represents the distances from vertex to vertex.

For the application of the methods, the researchers use MATLAB Software. This
software is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates
computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment where
problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notation. Typical uses
include: (1) Math and computation; (2) Algorithm development; (3) Modeling, simulation,
and prototyping; (4) Data analysis, exploration, and visualization; (5) Scientific and
engineering graphics; (6) Application development, including Graphical User Interface
building

H. LOGISTICAL NEEDS
Logistic needs are involved with the cost or the shortest and easiest way for the
establishment to be accessed. The estimated distance of Manila Doctors from Mapua
University varies according to the road or street used to travel to it. There are two streets
that leads to Manila Doctors from Mapua University – San Marcellino St and Padre Burgos

Ave. San Marcelino St is the closest where it is only 2km away whereby using Padre
Burgos Ave will extend it to 3km away. From Mapua, you can walk to Manila City Hall
where there are jeepneys going to Taft. These jeepneys passes by the street where Manila
Doctors is. From Mapua you can walk to the Manila City hall and take the Jeepney, once it
passes by the street where the Hospital is, get dropped. It is a walking distance from the
drop off point. The jeepney ride is just 9 pesos. Cars from Mapua usually use Padre Burgos
Ave to travel to the Hospital and if you use the Grab application, and estimate fare is
around 100 pesos depending on the demand at that specific time. Manila Doctors is also
accessible by walking although it will be a hassle since you will be walking by the road.
