Introduction:

exam must click on the submit button that would require finishing the examination
process. Even though this seems easy, the online examination has its advantages and
disadvantages as well. The students who agree with the online examination is good and
has many advantages of online examination. An online examination can make the
student’s life easier because they don’t need any paper and pen to do the examination.
Furthermore, the online examination can be effective and efficient. The students don’t

that is provided. The other advantage of online examination is that we can know our

Background:
Paper-based examination- The process of paper-based examination is to conduct the
examination offline paper-based which takes more time to complete all process of the
exam because there is a lot of hard work to set the questions, set up the exam date, set
up the question papers in the completion of the offline paper-based examination. The
paper-based examination is carried out on a fixed date and according to a fixed
schedule. Therefore, there is no other chance to take up again. Moreover, they involve
a lot of paperwork (e.g. printing of exam papers, arranging answer sheets, setting the
question papers, collecting the paper after completion of the exam, etc.). There are lots
of waste of time to do these kinds of work for printing the exam paper as-well-as there
are lots of waste of paper in the paper-based examination. After completion of the
examination, it takes more time to collect all papers as per student roll numbers. The
evaluation of these exams is also a very tedious job after they complete their result. The
teacher has to mark each paper manually and then consolidate the result as per the
student performance and their score. This process is very cumbersome and takes a lot
of time and hard work to do this process.

Web opens up the possibility of giving the exam online. The online examination can
make the student’s life easier because they don’t need any paper and pen to do the
examination. Furthermore, an online examination can be effective and efficient. Online
examination is conducting a test online to measure the knowledge of the students on a

words used in the answer. The system will also provide a manual override feature
wherein the teacher can manually or update the result for an exam. The system will also
have the capabilities to resume the examination from last save point i.e, a student can
stop the examination in the middle of the exam and can later start again at any other
time but he/her will have to conduct the exam at the day, the exam will start from the
same point where it was stopped. There will be a fixed time for each question to
conduct the exam. After completion of time, the question will change. The system will
present an easy to use interface for the teacher, Student, and administrators. Once
logged in, students will be able to see the examination date, will be able to see the
result, due and can take the examination. The online examination system will produce
the result automatically as per student give the right answer to the question that will be
shown after the completion of the examination means that student will be able to see
his/her results immediately after the completion of the exam. and students will also be
able to see the correct answer to the question and which questions he/she has
attempted wrong and what is the right answer to those questions. There will be very
easy processes to conduct online examination. The students will first register in the
web-based exam or if-else he/she has already registered then no need to register once
again, go for login and enter his/her e-mail id and password with the same e-mail and
password which he/she has used during the register time. After successful login web
pages will be open to conduct the exam. Then students will be able to choose his/her
subject, After selection of subject he/she will find two kinds of questions, one will be text
type question and second will be images type question he/she can choose specific
questions type as his/her choice. After choosing the question type student will go for
attempting the question. Whenever exam time will complete question paper will be

submitted successfully via each student that will be very easy to submit the papers.
There are more advantages of online web-based examination in which the more
important advantage is paperless due to the online examination there will be no used of
paper to the exam by which schools, colleges will free from paper which will be a very
enormous deal for the colleges and schools which is very blissful. There will be no
requirement of attendance system because it will be very easy to found how many
numbers of student attempted the exam and who had absent in the examination. Due to
online examination, the second advantage is time-consuming because there will be no
requirement for printing the papers and collecting the papers after completion of the
exam and no need to mark each paper manually and then consolidate the result
because the result will be produced automatically by which a lot of time will be
consumed.

 There will be two types of questions first will be text type and second will be
image or graph type questions.

saving as-well-as cost saving. To conduct for an online examination in the manual
