Abstract

The improvement of novel solar power technologies is viewed to be one of many key options

toward fulfilling a worldwide growing demand for energy. Rapid growth within the discipline of

solar technologies is nevertheless facing quite a number of technical barriers, such as low solar

cell efficiencies, low performing balance-of-systems (BOS), financial obstacles (e.g., excessive

upfront prices and a lack of financing mechanisms), and institutional limitations (e.g., inadequate

infrastructure and a shortage of skilled manpower). The deserves and demerits of photo voltaic

power technologies are each discussed in this article. A variety of technical troubles affecting

renewable electricity lookup are also highlighted, along with beneficial interactions between

rules coverage frameworks and their future prospects. In order to help open novel routes with

regard to solar electricity lookup and practices, a future roadmap for the field of solar research is

discussed.

Introduction

1.1.Background of the Study

As the power demand is continuing to expand day by-day, it is in charge of our specialists to make

it available as per the demand. Many of the power generating plant are using non-renewable

sources as their primary source. But these may become extinct at any time and before facing the

situation we have to choose an alternative to avoid the power crisis. One of the best alternatives is

choosing Non-conventional sources like Solar energy, Wind Energy, Tidal energy, Bio-mass

energy etc... as the primary sources for power generation in power stations. The power from these

sources is several times greater than the one, which we are using at the present. Out of these energy

sources, the best one which suits for our country is the Solar energy. Photovoltaic solar

panels absorb sunlight as a source of energy to generate direct current electricity.

A photovoltaic (PV) module is a packaged, connected assembly of photovoltaic solar

cells available in different voltages and wattages. Photovoltaic modules constitute the photovoltaic

array of a photovoltaic system that generates and supplies solar electricity in commercial and

residential applications. The most common application of solar energy collection outside

agriculture is solar water heating systems.

1.4. Significance of the Study

This will benefit our country. By using Solar panel as a source of electricity, we can avoid the

destruction of our environment and we can preserve fossil fuels and stop using coal power

plants that harms our environment.

This will teach us how to use more environment friendly source of power/Energy

1.7. Hypothesis

It is hypothesized that if we used solar panel as a non-conventional energy for our country it

would suit our country knowing that our country is one of the hottest country in the world. Also.

it is possible when the time comes that the energy is scarce solar panel can be great alternative

for our county in terms of energy.

1.8. Definition of Terms

 Non-conventional sources - is a energy generated by the solar, wind, tidal, bio-mass

etc.

 Solar energy - is energy that comes from the sun.

 Wind energy - is a form of solar energy. The process by which wind is used to

generate electricity.

 Tidal energy - is the form of hydropower that converts the energy obtained from tides

into useful forms of power, mainly electricity.

 Bio-mass energy - is a renewable energy source from living or recently living plant

and animal materials which can be used as fuel.

 Photovoltaic solar panels - absorb sunlight as a source of energy to generate direct

current electricity.

 Extinct - is the termination of an organism or of a group of organisms, usually a

species.

 Generating plant - an installation that produces electric current.
