Project Summary Content

I. Project Background

Halal is a global industry. With a stake in commercial sectors worldwide, Halal Development has become a
significant contributor to all facets of economic growth. Focusing on development of Halal standards, audit and
certification, plus capacity building for Halal products and services, HDC promotes participation and facilitates
growth of Malaysian companies in the global Halal market. Date Prepared: 1 March 2018 and completed earliest
31 March 2019

Firstly to create value for businesses participating in the Global Halal Industry and to benefit Malaysia's
economy.

Secondly HDC focuses on the development of halal standards; branding and promotion; and commercial

The estimated budget for this project is worth RM 1Million . This cost will be divided by each group in the project,
eg team marketing, planning and evaluation, budget for list attendance and guest, budget for catering, venue
and for Public Relation Team.

PART B

I. Project Summary

Halal industry is the latest trend in the world market. With Muslim population reaching 3 billion people, Halal
industry becomes one of the fastest growing businesses in the global market. It covers sector such as finance,
tourism, service, transportations, and food. Food is the essential thing in human life and the market
potential for Halal food is very promising with Islam as the fastest growing religion in the world. The global
halal market has emerged as a new growth sector in the global economy and is creating a strong presence in
developed countries. The most promising halal markets are the fast-growing economies of the Asia, Middle East,
Europe and the Americas. With a growing consumer base, and increasing growth in many parts of the world, the
industry is set to become a competitive force in world international trade. The halal industry has now expanded
well beyond the food sector further widening the economic potentials for halal.

II. Objective
The objective of this project is:
I. To introduce halal products and brand to all people.
II. To develop positive perception on Halal and Halal products and services among the people.
III. To gain acceptance of Halal Industries from all different religion and races in the world.
IV. To determine appropriate business plan.

(a) Challenges of halal product
I. The lack of a single unified global halal standard is a pressing issue within the halal industry.
II. Geographical locations and ethnicity differences resulted in variations in halal concepts adopted by
Muslims worldwide.
III. Ensuring halal integrity for the halal industry since the halal industry involves ‘farm to table’ operations.
IV. Lack of skilled workers as it needs qualified people to administer halal matters is priority.

(b). Justification
Development of the halal food industry has significant impact not only to people, but the economy. The halal
food industry has attracted participation from SME specializing in the processing and production of halal foods. A
halal food industry also contributes to the economic development of the country but consumption of halal food
affects the physical and spiritual growth of human being. This will create value for business participating in the
Global Halal Industry between the other country.

III. Project Explanation


(i) Project Explanation
Malaysia's central position in Asia makes it an ideal trading platform to draw the world's halal players in
facilitating the sourcing and selling of global quality halal products through International Halal Hub Exhibition. It’s
a best platform for Halal-based industries to launch the promotion of world class Halal products and services
globally. International Halal Hub Exhibition will be gather worldwide business associates at one common venue
to engage and strengthen business relationships whilst identifying attractive trade opportunities within the Halal
niche market. It embraces the halal concept in all its dimensions from pharmaceuticals and herbal products,
cosmetics and health care to Islamic investment, banking and takaful. This event will set between foreign buyers
and local sellers and able to developing and promoting local Halal products and services industry. This
programme also will be Support by Halal Industry Development Corporation.

(ii) Project Component
This exhibition will be provide around 200 booths, comfortable exhibition space approximately 14,400 sq.,
targeting traders and exhibitors over 10 countries participation as well as presence over 400 reputable local and
international businesses in order to achieve objective organizing this grand exhibition. Organizers will make
publicity through printed and electronic media, advertising through posters, flyers, social media and website to
promote the exhibition. This will equipped International Halal Hub Exhibition with the extra edge to break through
barriers to enter young developing markets committed to serving the needs of the halal consumer and to reach a
quality-conscious generation seeking quality halal food products.

IV. Organizational and Management


The project manager is responsible to manage the project communication plan. Project manager is the one who
hold responsibility to communicate the status of the project progress, the scope of the project, cost, schedule
and others. Project manager play a vital role since they are the one is responsible to be involved with planning,
monitoring, controlling as well as communicating the risk. The project manager will then review every information
that is related with the projects consistently and accurately since the information need to be distributed to the
legal office and also any external agencies that may gain benefited from the information. A formal report is really
important since the report can produce different types of information. Usually status report will include the major
activities of the project and the progress, the schedule of the projects, estimation budget and cost expenditure,
risk analysis, and future activities. The report is been conducted to inform the important stakeholders about the
on-going project and the program of the projects. The reports will have adequate information to inform the
important person regarding the decision that has been taken and maintain the progress of the project so that
project can achieve its goal and objective.

V. OPPORTUNITIES
(i) Market Opportunities
I. Halal food has the opportunity to be the global standard for safe, wholesome, humane food if producers
fully adhered to the concept of Halal and Tayyib as in the tenets of Islam.
II. Develop premium organic product lines. There is an increased global demand for organic and natural food.
III. Investment opportunities in Halal food value chain integration. Many companies in the Halal food market
are small and fragmented. Financing vertical integration of the supply chain, from slaughterhouses to
distributors is an investment opportunity that should provide lucrative returns for the investors as well as
develop strong companies in this space.

VI. Financial Management


I. The project can be accomplished within the estimated budget of RM 1 million that have been properly
stated for this project.
II. The project manager has the right to hire, fire, accept or not accept project staff. It is also the duty of the
project manager to communicate to all staff regarding on the project and ensure it can be understand by all
the members to ensure the success of the project.
III. The project manager must ensure sufficient budget from the project that has been allocated and must
manage the financial resources carefully to avoid any loss and wastage.
IV. The project manager have right to make decision on the technical aspect and can refer to the expert
judgment if it is outside his or area of expert.
V. Project manager have a right to conduct the meeting and gather all team members regarding conflict
resolution before making any discussion.
VI. Any issues outside the authority or jurisdiction of the project manager will be discussed with the respective
authority that is responsible.
