for
Final Year Project Report

Guidelines for FYP Report

REPORT FORMAT
Following pages will provide the content for the report to be submitted by the student
after successful completion of 4-6 weeks of internship program.

1. Title Page

Sample Attached on Page 7

 The title of your project should not be written in more than two lines (adjust
the font size accordingly).
 The color of hard cover of FYP Report should be GREEN (the green color
of Pakistan's flag).

2. Undertaking / Certificate of Approval

You are required to fill the undertaking and sign it.

3. Dedication (Optional)

If you want to dedicate your work to someone, you may write the dedication
note under this section of your internship report.

4. Acknowledgment

In this section you acknowledge the help and support of all the people who
helped you in completion of your internship and internship report e.g. the library
staff, course instructor, family or any other person.

5. Executive Summary / Abstract

Please provide an abstract of 150 to 250 words. Executive summary previews


every section of the report in a short form. It can be called as micro image of the
report. It helps the reader to get a quick glance at the report before reading it in
detail. Everything important that you have done, discovered and concluded
should be mentioned but briefly and concisely. The abstract should not contain
any figures, tables, undefined abbreviations and references.

6. Table of Contents

List all the chapters, important headings and sub headings in the report with
page numbers. Also make a separate List of Tables and Figures in the Table of
Contents.

Please use IEEE format

Provide list of all the references and sources (Books, Journal/Conference Papers,
Reports, Websites, etc.) that you have used to write your Internship Report.

An example is given below.

ANNEXURES
At the end of your report, attach important (useful and relevant) supportive materials
that you have used in preparation of your report, like brochures, forms, newsletters,
interviews, questionnaires, news reports, articles, etc.

Page Setup:

 Each Chapter should start on a new page.


 Page Size: A4
 Page Margins: Left (3.0 cm), Top, Bottom and Right (2.5 cm)
 Page Numbering (Bottom-right corner of the page):
- Before Chapter – 1: i, ii, iii, iv …..
- From Chapter -1 and onwards: 1, 2, 3, 4 ….

Text Format - Guideline

 Main Heading: Times New Roman 16, BOLD


 Sub Heading: Times New Roman 14, BOLD
 Text: Times New Roman 12
 Line Spacing: 1.5

Figures (Images / Charts)


 Clear and readable (high resolution)
 All figures aligned in the center of the page
 Charts with proper legends, axis titles, units and readable values
 A proper caption should be provided BELOW the figure (Times New Roman 11
Italic). Provide reference if the figure is taken from another source.
 Each figure must be properly referred in the relevant section and in List of
Figures.

Tables
 Clear and readable – retype if not clear
 All tables aligned on the left of the page.
 Proper column titles and units
 A proper caption should be provided ABOVE the table (Times New Roman 11
Italic). Provide reference if the figure is taken from another source.
 Each table must be properly referred in the relevant section and in List of
Tables.

Prerequisites for Departmental Clearance

 Minimum 3 hard copies and CDs to be submitted as under:


- 1 copy for Supervisor
- 1 copy for Academic Office/Department Library
- 1 copy for Main Library
- 1 copy for Co-supervisor (if any)

Note: The CDs should be properly appended/attached to the last page of hard
copy.

 Lab clearance form duly signed by respective Faculty Members/Lab


Engineers.

 A Copy of Survey Camp Certificate.

 A Copy of Summer Internship Certificate.
