Deloitte Interview Experience

Round 1 : Salman, Alum Class of 2012, Manager.

Fitment Round (10-15 minutes):

The interviewer took one minute to go through my CV. Then he asked me to walk through my resume. He was receptive
to what I had to say, it was a conversation about me, what I did before ISB and at ISB - school, college, work etc. I tried to
explain what my organization does, what was my role in the organization.
Where do you see fit in Deloitte TS&A (Cloud, M&A etc)? I mentioned IT M&A and IT Strategy. IT Strategy made
perfect sense with my previous work but the interviewer questioned on why IT M&A. So I said I haven't worked in IT
M&A as such but the JD requirements and details fit what I did previously. He was convinced.

Questions I asked: I knew the answer but wanted to have a discussion on it. Does Deloitte allocate to any specific head
such as IT Strategy? Answer was No. I asked about travel, he said it was not necessary that everyone goes to US
particularly. (I had a H1B visa so wanted to discuss about my options).

Learning 1: If you have come from a company which is niche/not well known, try to explain about the company first in 2-
3 lines before describing what you did in the company.
Learning 2: Be thorough with the JD, the company website, the 5 kind of roles (Cloud, Strategy, M&A etc.)

Round 2: Case Round

Question: My client wants to implement a single ERP solution. Currently the client operates in 5 different geographies and
uses 5 different vendors. He wanted to know about the steps and the criteria that you would take to single in on a vendor.
Steps could be like vendors previous implementations, previous clients etc. Criteria could be like how time it will take to
implement, budget etc. Vendor characteristics that you want to look out for - Products, Services, Support Maintenance,
Location, Technology etc.
Finally he asked if this was a overnight ISB assignment, how would you solve the vendor selection options. I said I would
use DMOP Solver, with weights to each criteria and ranks to each vendor and arrive on the optimal solution.

Learning 3: Be calm and composed. Interviewer will guide you through the solution. I felt my interview didn't last long
less than 15 minutes but others had almost 40 minutes case interview rounds.

Round 3: Partner Round, didn't happen for all the candidates including me. Everyone who cleared Round 2 got an offer as
the number of shortlisted candidates matched their openings.
