I. A. Content Standards
Demonstrate understanding of polygons, circles, and solid figures.

The Learner is able to construct and describe polygons, circles, and solid
figures.

Visualizes and describes solid figures.

D. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson the pupils are able to;
 Visualize solid figures.
 Identify and describe solid figures.
 Display cooperativeness during group activity.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Visualizing and Describing Solid Figures.
Reference: 21st Century Mathematics Textbook pp. 236-241
Materials: OHP (power point), Flashcards, Charts, Models of solid figures,
real object, and improvised robot.
Value: Appreciation of various solid figures in the environment.
Code: M5ME-IIIe-25

III. Instructional Procedures:


A. Preliminary Activities
1. Review
2. Drill- “Game Ka Na Ba?”
a. The teacher will read the questions with choices.
b. The pupils will select the correct answer.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
a. The teacher prepares 12 cards and each cards contains a figure
and the name of it.
b. Each pupils will receive a card.
c. They will get a pair and they will find out if their cards match if they
match they will post it on the board but if don’t match they will
choose another pair and so on.

2. Presentation
A. Individual ( I do )
a. Showing video introducing the solid figures.
1. Let the pupils describe the characteristics of each figure.
2. Ask what is common among all the solid figures.

b. Activity
1. Present a paper robot whose parts are made up of solid figures.
2. Ask the pupils to identify the solid figures represented by each
part by completing the chart.

B. Group Activity ( We do )
a. Teacher divides the class into 4 groups.
b. Each group will receive a chart and they are going to list down
all the solid figures that they can see inside the classroom and
identify what kind of solid figure it is.
c. The leader from the group will present their work.

C. Independent ( You do )
a. The teacher prepares objects that resemble a solid figure.
b. Each pupils will receive one object.
c. They are going to put it on the right basket.

3. Generalization
a. What are the different solid figures? Describe each one.
b. What are their common characteristics?
c. Give examples of real life objects that represent each solid figure.
