Project Title: Motion Detection with SMS, Alarm System

As of today, technology continues to improve and evolve to sustain needs and things that
people require for to have a better lifestyle. However, it is not the case in terms of security, security
evolves but so do the crimes. The more ways we improve the securities in our homes, offices and etc.,
the more ways criminals make to overcome these defences in our home. Within this research, the
researchers used available current technologies to make a door alarm free from fatal flaws. The
researchers aim to provide a better security and reduce the number of intruders in households. The
researchers used 3 kind of sensors unlike the commercial door alarms that only utilizes one kind of
sensor. The 3 sensors used in this research are, a light sensor, a motion sensor, and a sensor that can
know if the door is open. If an intruder is sensed, it will send an SMS to the SIM card which belongs to
the owner of the alarm, and at the same time, will provide a loud sound by the buzzer. The prototype
door alarms were tested by attaching it to certain doors and were tested to know how fast and how
efficient it can detect intruders. Comparing this prototype with other alarms, there is a significant
difference between the prototype and commonly bought alarms in terms of speed of detection,
statistically. In terms of efficiency, the prototype showed consistency in detecting objects that passes
through the set-up of the researchers. In conclusion, this study is highly effective and reliable in
increasing the security of households.
