a meagure that seeks to
provide compensation tp
the people of Marawi
City who have been suf-
fering ftom the effects of
the siege in 2017.
The pdncipal author of
House Bill 3543, Deputy
Speaker and Basfian Rep.
Muiiv Hataman said 94
lawmalers have signed as
co-autlor of the measure.
Hataman said the ap-
proval would be easiet
since the bill is being sup-
ported by more than 30
percmt of the members
of the Lower Chamber.
He said the passage of
the Marawi Siege Victims
Compensation Act is very
important as the people
of Marawi city corrunem-
orated on October 17 the
second inniversary of the
libeiation of the city from
violent exhemists.

Ma-rawi under the House
Committee on Disaster
Management has been
met-with a favorable re-
sporse from the House
leadership.

zations (CSOs) inMarawi
a few week6 ago where
they asked them to dose
ranks and speak in "one
gtrong and loud voice" for
a meaningful impact in
the rehabfi tation ef forts.
Among the concems
raised during last month's
meeting involved the on-
going demolition of dam-
aged stn Ktures inMarawi
and the cases of missing
civfians that have yet to
be resolved.
