1.GENERAL FUNCTION and FEATURE
High speed venting NEW NIIKURA HIGH-VENT N-NHV-FC Type have been developed
to relief excess pressure in tank and satisfied by rules in accordance with
IMO MSC/Circ.677, Circ.1009 requirements and Inter National Standard
ISO 15364 : 2000.
(1) The disc opens instantaneously at set pressure as soon as equivalent to pressure
in tank.
(2) Without concentrating the vapor of gas on deck flow from the tank, the venting
device exhausts the gases over 30m/sec. of velocity to upwards.
(3) The pressures in tanks are kept in constantly to the range of adjusted pressure.
(4) The devices protecting cargo tanks containing Petroleum products and
flammable chemicals.
Please be careful, do not use for chemical tankers dedicated to the carriage of
products with MESG less than 0.9 mm.
(5) Please install the anti-icing aquipment when using it in the state of the cold.

(2) To be firmly installed in upright position on the upper decks.
※ Drains must not be accumulated in pipes where the horizontal piping is necessary
arranged, a slope for pipings shall be provided.
(3) To be cleaned in pipes by using air blast before mounting valves.

  C.Transportation
(1) Keep it free from shocks and do not lay down.

(2) Do not put any things on the valves.

  D.Mounting
(1) When the valves are lifted up, use cranes or lifting gears with lifting eye-nut D11.

(2) To be fixed securely by using bolts, nuts and gaskets in accord with Standares.

2
3.MAINTENANCE
※(1) Before loading cargo in tank, make certain by actual manual trial handle (A12) that
the valve disc move up and down freely over full range of lift and rightly fit it
on the seats.
After check, the manual handle have to take back to the normal position.

Note : If the each seats and moving parts are sticked on, the pressures in tank may
cause to accident.

(2) Ensure the check handle (A12) to correctly made at normal position. (refer to
below sketch)

(3) Make sure to stick without any foreign materials on the valve.

(4) Ensure that whether the valves has not been affected any damages from the outside.

Handle (A12) Figure

(5) Please whether valve (A03) is opened fully and shut smoothly or not by pulling
once per one month.
※ Please certainly operate the pulling-up when there is no pressure in cargo tank.

3
(6) Please lift the steering wheel once every three months, and clean the seat
of avalve side in the valve and the seat.
※ Especially, please kindly hurry up to overhaul time if cargo is easy to stiffen.
When an abnormal condition is found out onto the valves, stop to using and check the
valve follow with "4. Overhaul and Reassembling" and "5. Inspection and Treatment".

4.OVERHAUL and REASSEMBLING

・ Caution
1. When the valve is removed from pipes, ensure no pressure in the tanks and
prepare any scaffold or lifting gears.
2. Overhaul and reassembly working must be carried out in safety place and workers
should be safely worn with protective glasses, respirator and gloves in safety.
3. When overhaul, inspection cleaning and reassembling be carried out using reasonable
care not to damage to seats and moving parts.

5.INSPECTION and SERVICING

Before loading cargo into tank, make it certain operating manual HANDLE (A12) that
VALVE DISK (A03) moves smoothly vertically and sits down on SEAT STAND properly.
After such checking, return HANDLE (A12) to it's normal position (refer to an illustration
below).
Note : In case SEAT STAND or RUBBING AREA is blocked with any sticky object,it may
cause unexpected rise of pressure inside tank, which will work to do damage to tank.
Try to carry out Overhaul and Inspection regularly considering what is Cargo and in what
condition it is.
※ Especially in case Cargo is of a kind to congeal easily, advance such circle. While
checking, if any abnormality is found, suspend work and proceed to Overhaul referring
to Procedures of 4 & 5.
