Question 1: (10 Marks)

A sphere is fired into a medium with Vo = 23 m/s. the sphere has a deceleration
a = - 4t m/s2, t in seconds. Determine distance (S) before it stops (V = 0).

Question 2: (10 Marks)

A car moves along a circular track of radius 80 m with a speed V = 5(t2+2t) for a time
period 0 t 5 (seconds). Determine acceleration a when t = 2 s. how much distance r
traveled in t = 3 s.

Question 3: (10 Marks)

A roller track shown (vertical plane). a car travels a speed of 13m/s when breaks are
applied suddenly causing car wheels to slide on track (uk = 0.15). determine the initial
deceleration of the car if the breaks are applied as the car has almost reached A

A ball is thrown from point A with VO makes 90o with AB plane as in fig. The ball strikes at
B, determine:
(a) Range R in terms of Vo and . (5 Marks)

Question 5: (10 Marks)

A collar of mass 4 kg pushed down so as to compress the spring 0.4 m and then released
from rest (h= 0.0). determine its speed when it is displaced h = 1.0 m. spring stiffness is
500 N/m. neglect friction

Question 6: (10 Marks)

A 4 kg carte is acted upon by T = 25 t (N), where t in seconds. Carte’s initial velocity
V1 = 5 m/s down the plane, friction coefficient = 0.2. calculate carte’s velocity V2 after t =
3 s of applying force T.
